Nesselhuf files paperwork for Secretary of State

Republicans are poised to take over even more of the Senate’s seats as a third Democratic Senator has filed to run for statewide office.

Ben Nesselhuf has filed paperwork with the Secretary of State to BE the next secretary of state. He joins Scott Heidepreim running for Governor and Julie Bartling running for Auditor.

This represents a novel strategy for Democrats – one that they usually don’t employ. That is, actually run people for those offices, as opposed to talking someone into filling the seat at convention, if they can do that at all.

The downside is that it takes even more Dems out of the legislature when redistricting will be at stake.

Congrats to Ben, who joins Republicans Theresa Bray and Jason Gant (whom I tend to favor in the contest) in seeking the seat.

Nesselhuf is that stuffy very young fellow with the holier-than-thou attidtude when you listen to him on that fancy website. But who is this Gant gentleman? If we have a GOP guy with some conservative sense in this race, I have an easy question:

Stache, or no Stache?
