Does Herseth support the public option? Howard Dean thinks so

Do we know where Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin stands on government run health care?

She danced around the topic in her piece last month in the Argus Leader. Despite her insistence upon higher reimbursement rates for hospitals before supporting the most aggressive plan out of the Pelosi camp, Congresswoman Herseth has apparently tipped her hand to former DNC chair, Howard Dean who has listed her as one of the Democrats in support of the public healthcare option.

It very plainly and distinctly says that “Rep Stephanie Herseth Sandlin Supports the choice of public Healthcare option.”

Where are they getting this? According to their methodology:

In addition to your emails, Democracy for America members and our partners have made calls to Congress and reported back the results to Stand With Dr. Dean. We have compiled the reports from those calls and combed through public statements of every member of Congress. Based on a complete review of your reports and our research, the grid below lists every member of Congress and their basic position on the inclusion of a public healthcare option.

I’d also like to find out where they got that, though I hope she does support it. Supporting a public option is in the best interests of South Dakota and everyone in this country.

Time for Dr. Curd to do his own survey at the ballot box!

The more SDWC cites Dr. Howard Dean as an authority, the better!

Gee I hope they’re right. I wasn’t counting on her support.

I like Chris Nelson’s chances taking on Herseth. Chris has a proven record of doing what is best for South Dakota and will be a great representative. I supported Herseth in the past but this time I’m putting my support behind Chris.

Corey, I agree. Dean should be referenced often and loudly by Nelson/Curd. And Pelosi. Could you please urge Herseth to invite them to South Dakota and campaign for her too?

And this is a surprise??? She is Pelosi’s lap dog and this once again proves it.

For those who supprot a public option, how is this supposed to be better for SD’ans? Cheaper is not necessarily better. And if we like our present employer offered plan, but this thing comes in cheaper and the employer drops us, then what choice do we have? And when enough employers dump the private insurance, those companies will be gone, and then what choice do we have? And when the public option offers less choices regarding doctors, treatments, etc, where is our choice then?

This reason for this health care reform was at first to insure everyone, now that has been proven a lie. It was then to be insurance reform, and without addressing portability and tort reform, that won’t happen either. And it was supposed to be deficit neutral, which has been proven to be a lie by the stunt the Dems tried to pull yesterday. And it was to reduce health costs, which has also been exposed to be untrue. So tell me, what is the upside for this “reform” being rammed through when a majority do not want this type of reform?

After seeing Obama, Biden, and Bill Clinton campaign for Corzine in New Jersey, I would not be surprised to see Pelosi trying to help Herseth in South Dakota. Although, that would have negative results, wouldn’t it?

NEVER AGAIN STEPHANIE, YOU SELL OUT!!! “blue dog” my A___S!! you are a complete phony and liar. You have voted for the MASSIVE STIMULUS BILL, THE BUDGET, AND NOW THIS GOV’T HEALTH CARE. I will work until I pass out for your defeat at the ballot box for selling out

Here’s the thing.
Even if a miracle occurs and Nelson or what’s-his-name beat Herseth, she will land on her feet by going liberal. She will find a job in the Nobama Administration and not have to justify the fact that DC is her home and has been for a long time.

And North Dakota! And Minnesota! And Oklahoma! And all the way to the White House, YEAAAEEAAUUURGGHHHHH!!!!!

JUST PUT IT AS MEDICARE LIKE A PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN UNDER BUSH WHAT A LOSER AND I BET ALOT OF YOU HERE VOTED FOR g.w AND 7 TIME STUDENT DEFERMANT CHEYNEY.

Dr. Blake Curd!

Let’s not forget about the extra cost of the items they took out of the Bill so they can bring forth more medical Bills to add to our Nation’s Bankruptcy.

Springer is right, there will be no choice. However, there will be more job loss, less doctors, nurses, etc…

Good one, Spinger!
