Au contraire, Bob Mercer. I disagree.
From Bob Mercer over at Pure Prairie Politics:
His father, by the way, is former state legislator Roland Chicoine of Elk Point, a Democrat who served 20 consecutive years at the South Dakota Capitol moving between the House of Representatives and the Senate from 1981 through 2000.
The most intriguing angle in this dispute, however, is the rejection by the critics of the opportunity they have. They likely would be on a long waiting list if they took their complaints to the St. Louis, Missouri, headquarters of the international giant. But in David Chicoine, they have a South Dakota native, living in Brookings, who is president of South Dakota’s agricultural university, serving on the Monsanto board.
Au contraire, Bob Mercer. I disagree. The most intriguing angle in this dispute is not that the Democrats as led by Frank Kloucek are complaining about opportunity.
What I think it the most intriguing angle is (as I’ve always heard), when Frank Kloucek was first elected to the legislature, the tale is that Rollie Chicoine, took Frank under his wing and gave him a old suit, so he had one.

The suit story is correct – but I believe it was Rep Craig Schaunaman that extended the charity — Rollie was a great guy, he may have too, but the legend I heard repeated was that Craig did it.
