If cap and trade is implemented, everything that uses energy in its production or delivery will experience higher energy costs that will have to be passed on to consumers. By the time an ear of North Dakota corn gets planted, harvested, processed, and gets put in a can on a grocery store shelf, it will have been taxed at least 10 times. Prices on most of the food, medicine, hardware, and most of everything else that we buy will be forced up by 40%.

I see Dan Lederman is still pushing the anti cap and trade petition! Keep it up Dan! Good to see so many people are standing strong on this issue.

I know we have two real challengers in the congressional race right now but I feel there is still a lot of room for a dynamic personality in the GOP primary like Lederman, Kristi Noem, Shantel Krebs, Lee Schoenbeck or Dusty or Jarrod Johnson. Even Larry Russell from the Lincoln Day Dinners a few years ago would do himself some good to show up again in 2010.

There is a lot of talent in the SD GOP!

Johnson won’t listen to letters, phone calls, or any type of contacts. He will vote the straight Democrat line and that includes cap and trade. He said as much in a recent email. Just goes to prove that he cares more for being a good little doggie than looking out for the true concerns for SD, and just proves what a huge mistake people make last election with their pity vote. He wouldn’t meet with constituents last summer, and he won’t listen to them now. It’s a sad commentary on politics. After his last email to me which was full of half-truths and feel good/say nothing comments, I told him he didn’t need to bother contacting me anymore if he couldn’t tell the truth. Don’t imagine he read that one either!

Well include Herseth in that bunch and I guess Tim Johnson is hanging on a limb!

I like that Tim Johnson is so liberal these days. That way Brendan will be damaged goods when he runs for congress.

Brendan should show a little clout now with his dad if he wants to get elected.
