Thune: Senate Republicans ready to go to work to halt Obamacare spending “monstrosity” in its tracks

From the Hill:

Republicans are “more than happy” to work around-the-clock and through the holidays to stop healthcare legislation, Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) asserted Monday evening.

After a key Senate chairman, Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), said Monday that Democrats would force Republicans to work overnights and weekends throughout December if they stall the health debate, Thune, the Senate’s fourth-ranking Republican, said the GOP is more than willing to meet the challenge.

“I guess what I would say is, fine, we’ll be here,” Thune said Monday evening during an appearance on the Fox Business Network. “If it means stopping this monstrosity, this $3 trillion expansion of the federal government, Republicans are more than happy to stay here if that’s what it takes to stop this thing.”

I know one shouldn’t take anyone for granted but this doesn’t surprise me a bit.

I hear the bell tolling for the liberal solutions to health care.

Lincoln, Nelson, and Lieberman are out. Byrd is missing votes. Webb, Landrieu, Dorgan, Bayh and others are at best “non-committal.” And others are expressing “reservations.” In a month, there might not even be 50 votes for this piece of dung.

Troy, the “dung” isn’t out yet. It’s being polished as we speak. (wink)
“Medicare for Everybody” would have been so much simpler. But actually, I like Sam Hurst’s idea. Move Medicare back 10 years to age 55 and cover everyone under 18. Then work the rest out with insurance companies. That gives the insurance companies a chance to see if they want to play ball or not, and the proponents of Single Pay an opportunity to prove their case.

“Medicare for Everyone” = “Larger Deficits for Everyone”

Who cares about fiscal sanity, right?

John Thune…Spokesman for the Party of No….here he goes again..

Anon @ 1:57 I have to agree with John on this one.

NO to more taxes in any form

NO to rationed health care

NO to ‘Death Panels’

NO to a government take over of the health care industry.

The government can’t even take care of our heroes (veterans) properly. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/shocker-va-staff-got-24m-in-bonuses
What makes them think they can take care of the rest of the population?

1:57, that’s getting pretty tiresome, when it’s Democrats who are stalling things.
