Middle Border Sun suggests that Dems take their bad blue dog to the Humane Society.
Todd Epp over at Middle Border Sun (AKA SD Watch) suggests that his party takes it’s bad, bad blue dog out and give it a swat on the nose with a newspaper:
My former colleagues at South Dakota Public Radio give our poor, maligned sole United States Representative a bully pulpit at our expense, where Princess Stephanie Herseth Sandlin calls those of us Democrats who actually believe and act like Democrats and think Americans deserve health care “extremists.”
and..
You are a bad, bad Blue Dog. And like a dog that cannot be trusted not to bite the kids and not to pee on the furniture and not to chase the letter carrier, it is time for you to find a new home. You may be a Blue Dog Democrat but you are not a Democrat. It is time you go down the street and live with that nice Republican family you always run off to when the gate to the backyard fence gets left open. But I hear they smack their bad dogs with more than a newspaper when they don’t behave.
This “extremist” is going to get a new dog, maybe that honest, well behaved Chris Nelson dog from Pierre or that kind of exotic dog, B.T. Marking, from Custer. At least I know I’ll have a dog I can trust.
Bad dog Stephanie. Bad, bad dog.

I’m still surprised at how the Dems are turning on her, when she will be there for any needed final votes, and they should know that. Epp claims she always strays to the other side of the fence if the gate is left open. Last I heard she voted with Pelosi 90+% of the time. Seems she doesn’t wander very often or very far!
I’m not always a fan of Epp, but you’ve got to hand it to him, he’s funny. Legitimately funny. He does humor and satire about seventy times better than Detroit Lewis does. And Epp doesn’t even have to swear.
If Princess Stephenie where to see the light and convert; Would the GOP welcome her with open arms?
It would take a whole lot more than just one vote, to change my mind.
To her credit, Stephanie voted the way most people in this state would want her to. However, it took her a lot of time and soul searching to come to the conclusion she did. I heard someone call into a talk show and told how her representative waited until the last minute to oppose the bill (Utah?). The tactics seem very similar. Maybe she does not have the courage she is claiming she has.
duggersd,
Don’t forget, she voted to bring the bill to the floor. She could have blocked it from getting out of committee if she had really intended to block it.
Sandlin has NO courage! She wanted to vote for healthcare–that is why she voted for closure. She voted no only because her good friend Nancy had enough votes to pass it without her!
I can hear Todd singing the song the Righteous Brothers “You’ve lost that loving feeling” to Stephanie right now.

Speaking of songs, after the President’s tepid response to Ft. Hood and dithering on Afghanistan, can’t you hear our soldiers singing this song to their Commander in Chief?
Bonnie Raitt’s song “I can’t make you love you me.”
Again, and again, and ONE MORE TIME, until a Dem the b–ls to primary her, Epp and CAH and the libs are not going to abandon her for a pro-life, anti-gay marriage, etc. GOP candidate. When the chips are down, it just won’t happen.
I am a huge fan of young Mr. Epp. Huge. But perhaps this is less about Mr. Epp than it is about Ms. Sandlin seeing what her constituancy really wants. Could it be that simple?
Dont forget Anoymous 732, it doesnt really matter what Epp and CAH think, they dont elect her. It is a good number of indys and GOP putting Steph into office. The rez will remember her if we remind them of how she helped bring down their chances of windpower with the carbon attack. Grud is right, this should be more about SHS seeing the needs of her state and working for them. That simple. I to am a fan of Epp, Grud. Loyalist comes to mind.

This is not going so well for Stephanie!
I have come to the conclusion that most voters in SD don’t know much about her except her last name.
At least the Dems are finally seeing she is an oppurtunist also. We figured that out in 2002.
