Hhmmm, endorsments by McGovern while describing himself as “Nixonian” is certainly an interesting political strategy.

Wasn’t it Nixon who got off the plane in some Asian country (Phillipines?) and thrust his “peace sign” fingers into the air (in his classic pose), later realizing that the english “peace sign” is the asian equivallent to the “finger”? Funny.

Heide’s statement is right out of the Janklow playbook. Make yourself appear unworthy, a long shot, overmatched in the hopes of getting that “feel sorry” for you vote that got TJ reelected.
