Well, at least she wasn’t his son.
From the Associated Press:
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus was romantically involved with a former staffer when he recommended her earlier this year to become the next U.S. attorney for Montana, a spokesman said.

SD didn’t want to get rid of Daschle until he started acting like aliberal instead of a porkbarreller!
By the way if she was qualified someone else could have nominated her for just the reason that it looks bad for Baucus.
I sense this is the begining of the SD, ND, MT Democratic strangle hold on senate seats. It will start in ND with Hoven!!!
at least this Democratic Senator’s girlfriend stepped aside. Brendan Johnson didn’t get the hint. . . and neither did the business partner’s daughter.
Typical libs CAH, Jon and others…justify bad behavior by invoking other bad behavior. P.S….there’s a big difference between a shack-up girlfriend and the wife of a business partner.
not sure i agree with you, 7:09. there may be a difference, but what’s worse? making an appointmnet based on sex and lust or making one based on money and business? either way, it’s favoritism, and it’s bad.
Pickles and PP, meet republican former Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski. (Appointed his daughter Lisa to his US Senate seat in 2002 after he won governorship.)

Or his business partner…
