Anyone interested in “a possible” piece of Deadwood history?
Okay, this might seem a little silly, but as I continue my efforts to move my dad out of the family homestead in Pierre, I’ve hit a roadblock.
A number of years ago, My family picked up a piano from another party in a private sale. “Allegedly,” it had it’s South Dakota origins via a house of ill repute in Deadwood. Yes, we were told it came out of a Deadwood brothel. I say “allegedly” because it’s not as if they issue papers for that sort of thing. But that’s what we were told.
It’s fairly ornate, and my sister had hopes of moving it to Denver. But it isn’t going to happen.
So, if someone is interested, this nice antique upright piano is theirs for the taking. The only catch? You have to move it.
Drop me a note, pick it up in Pierre, and it’s yours.

I’ve got a taker already. If they can’t do it, I’ll arrange for pictures. It’s in good shape, with carved panels.
Lee, don’t get me started… well ok. Ahem. …the piano is probably bigger than most organs that passed through that place back in the day, and not nearly as well tuned up.
If that piano could talk, it would tell you the real reason the town is called “Deadwood.” (Ba-dum tishhhh.)

an organ from a house of ill-repute!!! Flemming can write lines on that one all day long
