Corson County information on Klaudt Rape Charges

Here’s some of the information on the Corson County Charges:

COUNT I
That on or about December of 2005, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SECOND DEGREE RAPE (SDCL 22-22-1(2)) in that he did accomplish an act of sexual penetration with his foster daughter, A.M., through the use of force or coercion; and as to

COUNT II
That on or about July or August of 2006, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SECOND DEGREE RAPE (SDCL 22-22-1(2)) in that he did accomplish an act of sexual penetration with his foster daughter, A.M., through the use of force or coercion; and as to

COUNT III
That on or about July or August of 2006, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SECOND DEGREE RAPE (SDCL 22-22-1(2)) in that he did accomplish an act of sexual penetration, separate and distinct from the act alleged in Count II, with his foster daughter, A.M., through the use of force or coercion; and as to

COUNT IV
That during the period between January of 2005, through June of 2006, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SECOND DEGREE RAPE (SDCL 22-22-1(2)) in that he did engage in a pattern of activity in which he accomplished one or more acts of sexual penetration, separate and distinct from the act alleged in Count I, with his foster daughter, A.M., through the use of force or coercion; and as to

COUNT V
That between the dates of January of 2005 and January 26, 2006, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR (SDCL 22-22-24.3) in that he caused or knowingly permitted a minor, his foster daughter A.M., to engage in activities that are harmful to minors or involve nudity, namely, one or more purported breast exams; and as to

COUNT VI
That between the dates of December 2005 through January of 2007, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of STALKING (SDCL 22-19A-1(3)) in that he did willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly harass another person, his foster daughter, A.M., by means of any verbal, electronic, digital media, mechanical, telegraphic or written communication; and as to

COUNT VII
That on or about January 18, 2007, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of TAMPERING WITH A WITNESS (SDCL 22-11-19) in that he did, with intent to influence A.M., offer, confer, or agree to confer any benefit on A.M. to induce her to testify falsely or withhold any testimony or information.

COUNT VIII
That or about September of 2002, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SEXUAL CONTACT WITH A CHILD UNDER 16 (SDCL 22-22-7) in that he did knowingly engage in sexual contact, namely the touching of the breasts of his foster daughter, J.S., who at that time was 15 years old; and as to

COUNT IX
That between the dates of September of 2002, and January 11th, 2005, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR (SDCL 22-22-24.3) in that he knowingly permitted a minor, his foster daughter, J.S., to engage in activities that are harmful to minors or involve nudity, namely, one or more purported breasts exams, separate and distinct from the sexual contact alleged in Count VIII; and as to

COUNT X
That on or about March of 2006, in the County of Corson, State of South Dakota, Ted Alvin Klaudt did commit the public offense of TAMPERING WITH A WITNESS (SDCL 22-11-19) in that he did injure, or threaten to injure any person, his foster daughter, J.S., or with intent to influence J.S., did offer, confer, or agree to confer any benefit on J.S., a prospective witness in an official proceeding, to induce her to testify falsely or withhold any testimony or information.

Foster daughters. I can’t imagine doing this to a total stranger much less someone living in my home.

For Ted’s sake, I hope he’s innocent. Because if he isn’t, for our sake, and the sake of these girls, the courts need to mete out a harsh justice.
