Napoli to Adelstein: Get some counseling.

The war of words between Bill Napoli and Stan Adelstein heated up in the Rapid City Journal this morning when Adelstein once again confirmed that he’s going to get Napoli. And his little dog too.

It detailed how Adelstein supported Democrat Theresa Spry, and would likely be involved in recruiting a Republican  opponent for Napoli. Which would be a change of pace, since Stan spent so much time and money on Democrats last election.

I’ll quit paraphrasing. The story is juicy enough:

Energized Tuesday night by Alan Hanks’ victory over Sam Kooiker, Adelstein proclaimed the mayor’s vote a public affirmation of political moderation over conservative extremes. And Adelstein, who was deeply involved in the Hanks campaign, also issued something of a threat to his old nemesis Napoli, who supported Kooiker.

“I think what I said is, ‘Napoli’s next,’” Adelstein said. “I really believe what I said was, ‘It’s Napoli’s turn next.’”

If that’s Adelstein’s way of slapping leather, Napoli drew quickly in response.

“Why in the world is one of Rapid City’s richest men so concerned about a broke, short, fat little Italian guy who sells antique cars?” Napoli said. “If I had that kind of money, I sure wouldn’t be concerned about him.”

But Napoli was interested enough to suggest that Adelstein needs to “get some counseling,” and to dismiss the notion that Adelstein, a former District 32 senator, could have any serious influence on the voters of Napoli’s District 35.

and…

Napoli said Adelstein might want to spend more time thinking about his own race in District 32 and less planning interference in District 35.

“I haven’t been feuding from my side of this,” Napoli said. “I haven’t even mentioned that guy since the last election. But for some reason, he has his horrible infatuation with me that’s just driving him up a wall.”

Quote of the year: “Why in the world is one of Rapid City’s richest men so concerned about a broke, short, fat little Italian guy who sells antique cars?” Napoli said. “If I had that kind of money, I sure wouldn’t be concerned about him.” – Bill Napoli

I that was a great quote. Wish more politicians would be like that.

Future political candidates in Rapid City District 32 have a decision to make…Will they risk being put on a “take-down hit list” or will they accept being a token tentacle of quasi- elitism? It would be helpful if candidate has experience in anger/frustration management control. Anyone suffering from “taste of blood, mad dog syndrome” will not automatically be eliminated and will be given special consideration. Candidate must be willing to repeatedly refuse to respond to the question “Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on issues you will face on their behalf?”

Stans reach is hardly limited to district 32.

Yes 11:23 – Stan’s reach is state-wide. Like the great and powerful Oz!

Oh wait, Oz was a fiction – just like Stan.

I’m confused, wasn’t Adelstein first targeted to be defeated in the Republican primary first by Napoli and Apa? I think both sides have plenty of dirt under their fingernails.

I’m not a big fan of Adelstein, but if he can get an idiot like Napoli out of the state legislature then good for him.

Be advised,”Sometimes a person`s reach exceeds their grasp.” Humility is a foreign word in some people`s agenda.

The Stanley needs much more than counseling, he needs psychotherapy…an intervention by his good, devoted friends could get him there. I’m sure he has the many of the best friends that money can buy..

Yeah, Bill’s entertaining, but, when he forces a statewide vote on an issue so badly crafted that 89% of state voters reject it, it’s not funny anymore. Good grief, JAIL got nearly as many votes as his STOP did. He’s never learned that there is a difference between making policy vs. just bitching all the time.

Aftermath: Stange hush exists, is Piersol there to find the offenders of Hanks` claims of” being savagely attacked by bloggers?” Rapid City Repubicans are divided—right wing vs moderates with the DIA(aka Democrats in Action) keeping a low-profile. Napoli vs Adelstein “feud” also divides Republicans and again DIA remains silent. What`s the West River IQ for “divide & conquer?” Was Rapid City the model for the movie “Truman?”

Ref:#11 …Interesting points. Wasn`t former Sen.Adelstein (Republican) the DIA “big daddy” on the hot abortion issue?

A Rapid City “leak” to West River…. states, “Democrat–Suzan Nolan, may be receiving future donations from a former Republican(?) senator.

Rapid City now has bumperstickers that say NAPOLI FOR PRESIDENT!
