You can shoot horses, but you can’t eat them. Or can you? Congresswoman Herseth Sandlin can’t make up her mind.
I keep hearing in my e-mail box that there is some growing flak out west river against our Congresswoman for the position she’s taken on the slaughter of Horses. Or should I say, her position(s).
Apparently she’s been wavering in the saddle a bit:

Bill Passed (263-146) – Herseth voted against the bill, changing her position on horse slaughter after pressure from AG groups. (Herseth votes for slaughter)
2007 (110th Congress)
H.R. 249 (Rahall Bill)To restore the prohibition on the commercial sale and slaughter of wild free-roaming horses and burros. The Bill Passed (277-137) – With Herseth voting for the bill, flip flopping again back to her original support for banning the slaughter of horses. Despite the fact that Several midwest AG state Dems voted against it. (Chairman Peterson (MN), Tim Walz (MN), Earl Pomeroy (ND)) (Herseth votes against slaughter)

So which group is she supporting today? Ag Producers or PETA? It’s hard to tell sometimes.

oops, looks like Princess Stephanie got her — in a wringer with this one. She voted with all the Hollywood lefties and her hero Pelosi to ban horse slaughter and then the South Dakota cowboys had to rope her back into line….yee haw, Herseth is a phony!
Herseth sided with all the liberals on this who have no idea which end of a horse is up. Remember this when she puts on her ‘country girl’ acts which is ridiculous when she votes against ranchers
Sounds like she stabbed the cowboys in the back, just like she stabbed gays in the back after she said she supported us and now she won’t let us marry. Never vote for her again.
According to the above, Herseth-Sandlin first voted to end horse slaughter, then voted to allow it, then voted to end it again, which is the position of the Hollywood lefties. Right?
Herseth-Sandlin is a product of Washington DC (where she has lived her entire adult life) and a pawn of Pelosi and the global warming zealots and the Hollywood liberals who want to ban horse slaughter and take away the rights to sell horses from ranchers.

Good for you. The South Dakota blogosphere is sorely lacking a blog at an intellectual level where every post is comprised of “Uh huh. Huh huh. That sucks.” We definitely need more commentary from politically active pre-teens.
Otherwise, I don’t recall I’ve noted anywhere that I’m working for Dykstra. I used the picture (as I do them all) because he’s involved in SD politics. It’s also what I had on hand on short notice as I started playing with the template.
