Former RC Mayor Keith Carlyle – Cabela’s deal “a compromise of the public trust?”
Former Rapid City Mayor Keith Carlyle didn’t mince too many words as he weighed in on the Rapid City Cabela’s land controversy. Using words such as “a compromise of the public trust” would seemingly place him as one of the most prominent Rapid City opponents of the land giveaway which ended up being issue #1 in the recent mayoral campaign – a campaign which appears will extend into a referral of the vote donating land to the sports merchandise company.
This information is rocketing across Rapid City at the moment, going to members of the media. And you get a chance to read it all for yourself as well.

That should make for interesting family dinners… Kieth’s wife is the sister of RINO and Adelstien Lackey Rep. Mark Kirkeby.
Coincidence or Conflict of Interest? In the event of “RC Land Deal” being taken to Public Vote: Will a current market-price appraisal be done by Rep./Mayor/Real Estate Appraiser Hanks? House Bill 1275 which was Co-Sponsored by Hanks “which set a 3 year statute of limitations for prosecution of an appraiser for alleged mal-practice, error, mistake, or omission.”
Coincidence or Pre-Meditation? House Bill 1280 introduced by Rep./Mayor/Real Estate Appraiser, Hanks re: “…revision of certain provisions permitting decisions of a Planning Commission to be over-ruled by other public bodies.” …..Those persons that are attempting to affect a referral may pursue this….
Coincidence or Retribution? Rep./Mayor/Real Estate Appraiser Hanks was Primary Sponsor of House Bill 1110 which “increases the fines for certain violations of local ordinances.” Would that include citations from those friendly Code Enforcement Officers that respond to “Anonymous” neighbor complaints? Perhaps all home-owners should keep their manual of “International Home Maintenance Codes” on hand…
Coincidence or Tying Up Loose Ends? Rep. Mark Kirkeby`s Letter to the RCJ Editor on 7-1, voiced concern about Kooiker being on city council .
Ref:12 Guts, maybe—a persons`got to do, what a persons`got to do….Fireworks in Rapid City last night so it is going to be July 5 tomorrow here. I still don`t remember Columbus Day. Happy Whatever!
Class Action Lawsuits are sometimes more effective than the petition process…Citizens in the know probably are aware of HB 1087—exemptions from excise tax for contractors & certain building materials companies. HB 1086—regarding revision of release of liens, & Local Govt. 174, HB 1154—an act which revised the provisions concerning non-contigious ( non-adjoining) property…that have a common zoning designation.(Municipal Govt.) and of course, HB 1173 An Act to allow distribution of newly discovered property of a dissolved corp….Someone has really been busy in Pierre…
