South Dakota GOP running a presidential straw poll at the fair
Just got this in my in-box:
Don’t miss your chance to vote in our first-ever Presidential Straw Poll!
The South Dakota Republican Party will hold its first-ever Republican Presidential Straw Poll at the South Dakota State Fair August 30 through September 3, 2007.
Voting will be held throughout the fair at the South Dakota Republican Building and is open to anyone who will be 18 by June 3, 2008. The Straw Poll ballot will list all 2008 Republican Presidential candidates who have participated in a nationally televised presidential debate this year OR are polling 5 percent or greater in national, independent polls.
The results of the Straw Poll voting will be made available on the South Dakota Republican Party website, www.southdakotagop.com, on Tuesday, September 4, 2007.
I’d encourage you to head to the fair this weekend to vote for Fred Thompson as your choice for president.
Or me. Just for the sake of silliness, you can write in “PP at the SDWC.”

#5, I’m flattered, but you need a couple of things for that to work. Time and money. I don’t have a lot of either for the near future.
For those of you who might care, South Dakota actually had a Fusion governor. He was Andrew Lee. At heart he was a Democrat. But the Democrats and Populists joined forces, the Democrats didn’t run anyone as a party, and they elected Lee.
At the rate you dangerous GOPers are falling – like defective apples in a windstorm – you may have to resort to marginal intellects just to fill the ticket.
(Start counting from “Uncle Joe” McCarthy to Larry Craig. Don’t forget Janklow, Klaudt, et al.)

Not finding anything compelling enough to write on in 23 hours is shutting down my blog? Seriously - you have to get a life. It used to be I’d go an entire weekend without posting if I got busy. As the single writer here, I’m certainly more prolific than any other blog in the state.
If you must know, this week I made arrangements to affiliate with a real estate agency once I get my license, so I have placed a bit of a priority on it. While I love my website, I do happen to have priorities that overtake it once in a while.
Ron Paul is THE ONLY CANDIDATE in this race Republican or Democrat that gives a tinkers damn about whether or not this country even remains The United States. Do yourself a favor make a list for Mr Thompson, Romney, Giuliani
On the list are items that they must swear to before even being considered for President.
They must swear to maintain the sovereignty of the US by NOT joining a one state union with Canada and Mexico. They must eliminate the Federal Reserve as it is illegal never having been ratified through Congress. They must eliminate the IRS as it is also an illegal entity and a money collector for the Fed. They must eliminate the Trans US tollway that will take even more jobs and revenue from the US and send them to Canada and Mexico. Ask them them the HARD QUESTIONS this is YOUR COUNTRY and there are people that want to ruin it for your kids and their kids.
Can we vote by proxy?
