Uh oh…. My feed aggregator is acting up. Badly.
Sorry about the technical difficulties. I thought it was my ads, but apparently my feed aggregator is acting up.
This makes me really nervous, as I’ve been with them since almost the beginning, and I use the dickens out of it, aggregating 75-100 feeds into one. It especially makes me nervous, as I pay for it too.
But never fear. Either the problems will be fixed in short order, or I’ll find another solution.
Update #1 - I’m working on another solution for the feeds. The Feedburner author, who I’d had the great pleasure of dealing with directly on issues, and cutting me some slack on the billing structure when my size didn’t fit all, has apparently sold the company, and the new owners have done something this past weekend to screw it all up.
I’m not going to sacrifice speed, as that would annoy me more than anyone, so I’m building a new solution under the existing feeds. Once I have it up to my specifications, I’ll remove the old feeddigest feeds. The benefit of the newer one is that it will reside on my server and supposedly refresh faster.
Update #2 - Things actually seem to be behaving again. Which is good because it gives me more time on development, and lets me put my ads back up. My server based feed solution gagged on the number of feeds I’m indexing (darn near 100), so we’ll see what works best in the end.

Ralph Nader is a tool. I agree with your insightful analysis BF, these server problems are obviously Nader’s fault. Do Republicans agree with us?
After years of having a feed aggegator that is too efficient, I want one that allows more calories to just pass through. I don’t have the will to change my behavior.
Bill, not that I mind, but I think Ralph suffers from an unwillingness to change either. However, my suspicion is that he will have an effect that will be insignificant. The few votes he will get will be ones that wouldn’t show up at the polls otherwise. Probably help you at the congressional level. But even that will be nominal.
Ah yes Troy, you are not the only middle aged guy who has become more efficient over the years. One of the banes of growing old.
I think Ralph will get fewer votes this time than 2004 or 2000. But we Democrats can never forgive him for 2000 when his being on the ballot sucked just enough votes from Al Gore to forever change the course of our country.

How history would also be different with no Ross Perot too. No Bill or Hillary. Maybe McCain wins in 1996. The possibilities are endless.

You’re right Troy. Ross Perot did significant damage to Bush Sr. in 1992 and you loyal Republicans have every right to hate his guts. We can’t change the past but we can change the future. That’s why Bill and I weren’t the only Dems to roll our eyes and mutter when we heard the Nader announcement.
PP, I’m not bitching I just want to help. I’m using Safari on a Mac and when I hit the submit key your site turned ugly brown and tan, no photos or graphics. All the text seems to be there just in a ugly format. I’ll check it out in Firefox.

You use Feeddigest.com, right? Mine too — not acting up, just not acting! It seems to be slowing load time, and it either doesn’t come up at all, or it shows no update since Saturday. I checked the HTML preview in the Feeddigest.com control panel — on the second try, it showed an updated preview (with this very post at the top). But the feed on the Madville Times is still hanging. Let me know if you find a solution!
