Sorry for the light posting…. Campaigning….

Sorry for the light posting. I’m kind of busy campaigning.

And as far as the rest of this post, I’d do it for anyone else, so I’m going to do it for myself. Here’s a first look at my TV Commercial.

Starting Wednesday, viewers of cable channels in the Brookings area will be treated to (or must suffer through) my self-produced television spot. The voice-over work is done by Scott “the Bulldog” Bachmeier, one of Brookings’ local radio personalities, and a friend.

Otherwise, I did the rest, so be kind…

Really Pat? Local cable ads? Do you have too much money?

Nope. In fact I am on an extremely tight budget, and that’s why I’m doing this. Since I have no production costs (which are the big part of tv), each ad is about as much as a loaf of bread. At Wal Mart.

All on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and the History Channels I hope.

Nope. MTV, VH1, and Cartoon Network.

Good looking family. The volume on the disclaimer is really low compared to the announcer.

Pat:

Those are really all your kids? Too bad they’re not all over 18, you’d win for sure! (grin)

Good luck on the campaign trial. I liked the TV spot.

“Trial” or “Trail”?

Are you trying to tell me something that I don’t know….. ;)

And actually, Fleming was close. There’s more on the list. I’m skipping Spike (not really a voting demographic) and HGTV (Expense..). Actually, I think I’m heaviest on TLC.

I like the green. We old Dems never get to use it because we’re too superstitious. (It was Jimmy Carter’s color.)

Trail. Though it might seem like a trial by ordeal at this point Pat. Do you ever see Orv while you’re out and about?

You’re not buying Spike? I think their MXC: Most Extreme Competition crowd (of which I am a part) is a key demographic for you to capture. You know, Japanese speakers and satirical game show fans.

I enjoy MXC as well, but my Fox Newsies are more likely to vote for me.

Not bad for DIY.

Are you required to have the “I approve of this message” on an advertisement for state office? Seems like I’ve seen some that dont.

I don’t think you are for state offices. But it makes it sound more official.

Pat, nice job. Are you sure that the mailman didn’t help you create such a lovely family?

Seriously, you are past your best and most peaceful years of fatherhood. As a father of three girls, little girls are the best but puberty and alot of estrogen caused me to spend alot of evenings with headphones on. The battles with Mom got pretty loud. Now I know the real reason you are running for the legislature. But, rest assured, the “trial” is short. My oldest daughter has never been a greater joy than now.

And your family is beautiful.

Pat, Good idea to run an ad in a primary to become better known quickly. It works for you.

But I’d really like to see you and Orv strap on the sumo suits and go best of 3 falls for the nomination. Maybe after the primary the two of you can do that as a Republican fundraiser to make peace between you.

Were you unable to get that Jesse Ventura endorsement you sought? I hear he’s spending most of his time chilling in Baja California these days.

Pat, I’ve been reading this blog from day one and I would have never guessed open government would be one of your big issues. Weird.

Guess you get to learn something new every day at the SDWC, huh?
