Schoenbeck/Sattgast for the team that stands the best chance of winning in the fall of 2010.

Knudson/Dumpster would be impossible to make happen.

Why? Because Mainstreamer Knudson couldn’t make it through the primary, and Mainstreamer Dumpster could never make it through convention.

Pat, I didn’t see the spot to mark “none of the above”

I was thinking an Adelstein/Schweisow ticket would be hard to beat, but you left both off the list!

#3: And on the Dem’s, you could have Kloucek/Sutton (remember Frank’s email he never meant to send?)

O.K., who let Lee come on and vote for himself multiple times? ;-)

I had forgotten about Frank’s email. PP should really repost that – talk about a great blast from the past!

I think Chris Nelson would be the best Lt Gov choice for any of the above. He is a great person, does an excellant job for SD and he is sincere.

Yeah. Several of the governor candidates listed would also be possible LG’s if they lose the primary or don’t run. Obviously not Daugaard but really any of the others are possibilities for LG if they lose.

Dusty Johnson for Lt Gov

#7 – I agree. Chris Nelson is an incredible public servant. I am a life-long Democrat, but I would vote for him in whatever capacity he chose to run. Every time I’ve dealt with him, he’s gone waaaay beyond the call of duty. Pleasant, sincere, and dedicated.

It looks like Scott Munsterman has an email list…

Yah, Stephanie should run for Governor, then, it wouldn’t matter who the GOP put up. They would lose to her in no time flat…

MONDAK,

Think again. South Dakota’s might due one thing at the national level but don’t try to go there for the state!
SD Messed up in 04 as it was.

Don’t care for the LT Gov list right now.

Mr. Mayor, Lawrence & Schiller, and Tonnis Van Hiesen please quit hitting the refresh button.

What’s the old joke: “Any publicity is good as long as they spell your name correctly.” Guess I’m out of luck…

There you are Tonnis! Now, quit hitting the refresh button.

You running the campaign? Moving to Pierre to be chief of staff or secretary of ag?

Think again Anonymous? ha,ha,ha… I think again all the time. I’m always thinkin’ and I’m thinkin’ right now that Herseth is a shoe-in for Governor.

HERSETH FOR GOVERNOR IN 2010

Tonnis is holding out for his father-in-law Daugaard to appoint him to replace Tad Perry at $300,000/year. Next in the line of unqualified overpaid Republican political appointees.

PS. Time to kick out the GOP to get rid of all the taxpayer teat suckers and let those 20 something welfare puppies see if they can cut it in the private sector. Dems will also get rid of the permanent Pierre bureacracy composed of welfare puppies that have accumulated in Pierre since the 1970’s and whose arses have grown roots in government chairs. Those monkeys haven’t had a fresh idea for 20 years. They just suck the latest banana and keep collecting the paycheck.

The Governor doesn’t appoint the Ex Director of the Board of Regents. The Regents do.

If you put all the brains of the bloggers on this site together, we would still only be 1/4 as smart Tonnis.

Well, this post has gone to H_ _ _ fast.

Dumber, could have been a good one.

Anon #22 –

“We would still only be 1/4 as smart Tonnis”

We’re assuming you’re talking about yourself.

#22 – We’re assuming you’re Tonnis. And to #21 (also Tonnis) nobody believes that the Gov is just a powerless bystander with no authority or persuasion over the Bd. of Regents’ selection of executive director. We know you’re salivating over the prospect of replacing Tad and raking in the huge bucks. It’ll only happen if your father-in-law wins. And isn’t the spelling of your name cute?

#25 no I am not Tonnis..and yes I included myself in the comment about all of the bloggers put together still would only = 1/4. If I didnt include myself it woulf only be much different. I tend to bring down the curve. :)

Where is Larry Long? He might be the ultimate sleeper candidate for governor or lt. gov. He also would be a darn fine pick for the state Supreme Court seat that is opening up. Not to knock the presumptive favorite, Mark Barnett, but Larry’s knowledge of law seems to run deeper and broader, especially regarding Indian Country issues.

#26, of course we’ll never know for sure, and people named “Anonymous” have no inherent credibility or trustworthiness.

If some person were really 4 times smarter than everyone else put together then I would expect a great deal of accomplishment from that person – and without the need for a nepotism boost. I have not seen that from the Lt. Governor’s son-in-law, who seems to have accomplished little, and further seems to be waiting for the nepotism/political appointment to secure for himself a big paycheck.

#28: Tony met the Daugaard family (including his wife) working for Rounds, so I think the nepotism claim can stop there…

Wow, #s 24, 25 & 28, everyone’s very quick to criticize Tony. I would ask you, at his age, were you a National Merit Scholar, a Truman Scholar, married, with 2 undergraduate degrees, a former member of the Board of Regents, and have a Law Degree? That whole “not accomplishing much” doesn’t seem to apply.

You left off that he was Rounds’ butt monkey. That helps you accomplish a lot in the administration.
