Dem’s “Majority Project” website up and running

Dems have a website up and running with a blurb on most of their Senate candidates.

If you’re interested, check out http://www.majorityproject.net.

(Since the R’s will win this fall, and we won’t see most of the names again anyway)

Isn’t this one of the groups that Stan started to help democrats?

I don’t know if he had a hand in starting it, but he did give them $10k at the time.

Dream on, Dems.

From the Kloucek page: “During the last session, Frank worked on legislation that provides funding for research in wind and geothermal energy, strengthens our educational system and provides affordable health care.”

Or here’s one on Hoerth: “During the past session Alan has worked on legislation that protects South Dakota’s children…” That must be in reference to the “tan ban.”

I notice there is no link to Todd Herseth in District 20. Oh, that’s right, he dropped out!

Look at that little signature graphic for Heidepriem. That doesn’t look at all like it says “Scott Heidepriem” to me. The best I can make out is “Pete Parthenon,” but I’m guessing that’s wrong…

I just went through the matchups across the state in the Senate races.

My prediction – Repubs 22 Dems 13 when all the state senate votes are counted.

Once again, the dems have put way too much faith in Rick Hauffe delivering seats for them. Hauffe has a history of placing quantity over quality when he’s looking for legislative candidates. Looks like he’s done it again.

Wow. The famous political prognosticator, anon, thinks that Rick Hauffe doesn’t know what he is doing. Why don’t you pick the winners in every race and we can see who was the most accurate.

Bj’s says he works in Vermillion. What work might that be other than for the Dems?

Sorry, Rick… too busy right now… Maybe later.

You pick your winners, and see if you don’t agree that 22 to 13 is pretty accurate.

OK Rick… I got caught up, so made you a list. Here goes:

Novstrup, Fryslie, Smidt, Olson, Dempster, Abdallah, Gant, Wick, Knudson, Hunhoff, Vehle, Garnos, Brown, Gray, Jenson, Koskan, Rhoden, Howie, Nelson, Schmidt, Tieszen, Haverly.

That’s 22. Let’s see your list.

The Dems list is on the Majority Project website. See it for yourself. Not all will win, but a majority will.

Is Dempster a Republican?

#9: Jensen may or may not win, depends on how hard he works. Koskan is a long shot. But… Albers will win. And Higman will give ben the run of his life. Finally, don’t count out Tom Hansen.. a tough race, but he’s the only candidate from Beadle County where most of the votes are.

District One – with Lucas Lentsch (Mike Jasper’s brother in law) just switching to the Senate race, makes that a very competitve race. While the GOP has only won the district once in 60 years, Lucas has an impressive resume. He is from Marshal County, as is his wife. They have family all over the district. He commanded a battery of the 147th Field Artillery in Iraq, soldiers largely from that three county area, and brought them all back safe. He is a country western singer that has preformed all over the district at events, and he is involved in several community and regional projects. His wife’s family, Mike’s relatives, are amongst the most respected family in the region. This change makes this race the most likely seat change in the state (after the Novstrup win in Aberdeen)

I would immediately vote against anybody who sings country western, irregardless of all the other cool stuff he clearly did and does. And there are tons and gobs of voters who feel the same. Candidates (and Lee) please take note.

I’m just sayin’…

Grudznick – while my ipod is loaded with country (and Dylan and Buffet), the day you have to listen to me sing, is the day you found out what purgatory feels (sounds) like :)

But Lucas is a great guy – and I bet he can sing some Buffet stuff too (he’s not really the Dylan type)

I agree with #11. Jensen has a tough race, and Koskan’s race leans Democratic pretty hard. But Tom Hansen has a good chance. Higman is a strong candidate. I’d be surprised if Albers lost. (For those who are counting, that is 23). And Lentsch is going to be a great candidate in 1, as has been said. That is 24 seats.

Will the GOP get 24? I don’t know. But they’ll gain from 20.

Too bad the SDGOP isn’t doing this for their candidates.
Of course a good many of the GOP candidates ought to be have D beside their names, most notable Tiezsen.

Sorry…notablY.

#15 you don’t count very well.
