This is new. Stockgrower’s Ken Knuppe running for Governor
Coming to a county fair near you….
Actually, Ken filed early last month, but it went under the radar.
Just so he doesn’t take any money away from the 2010 candidates, it should be ok.

On behalf of scraggly facial-haired bloggers everywhere, I say, “Go Ken! Go ’stash!” I like my politics whiskered and interesting.
look, folks, you can make fun of this dude all you want and I don’t think he’s running as a joke or a lark, but you CANNOT argue with his three bullet points.
Simple. Clean. The Way Government Oughtta Be.
(Mr. Knuppe, you may use that if you wish. PP would charge you BIG bucks for his expert election advice that promises to get you elected.)
This cowboy has my vote. I don’t care what party he belongs to, although I think he’s a Republican. I do know he’s honest, hard working and will be very accessible to the people he represents. If Knuppe doesn’t agree with you, he’ll have a good, understandable reason for what he believes, he won’t denigrate you because you view things differently, and he won’t play politics… which probably means he doesn’t have the chance of a snowball in hell of winning!
I say welcome to the fray, Ken. This will surely give West River ranchers an option outside of Rounds II (Daugaard).
But, watch for Daugaard to pick Larry Rhoden or some other prominent West River legislator to offset.
Picking Rhoden sure as heck won’t help convince west river ranchers to vote for Daugaard. Rhoden, fairly or not, is viewed by most ranch folks as the governor’s water boy… and that is not a compliment.
What credentials and qualifications does he have? He is a single issue driven man with an axe to grind.
Knuppe’s qualifications are every bit as good as the other candidates. If wanting smaller government, lower taxes, and an open state government that is responsive to the voters is a single issue, I guess he’s guilty. The fact that he is not a lawyer is refreshing too, don’t you think?
I don’t know Ken, but I like what he says he stands for. If everyone lived by the “code” there would be a lot less problems in the World. I welcome him to the race and look forward to visiting with him.
I didn’t see the press release noting where the cowboy from the village people got in the race.
The police officer, American Indian chief, construction worker, leatherman, and Military man must be really proud.
Hey “Hmmmm”- here’s a hint toward that to which I think “Just wondering” (9:40) is pointing: “Whyyyy Emmmmm Ceeeee Ayyyyy”
This could quite possibly be the most honest, fair and hard working man I know. Let’s face it… In politics those are qualities that are hard to find! So why not vote for the man who aims to keep his strong values as governor? Lord knows it’s been awhile since we have seen that!
Oh, and to “Just Wondering” (9:40), this cowboy is just that: a real rancher whose real day to day job can be long and excruciating. And yet, he still gets up every day with determination and perseverance … the same as the other hard working “Village People” (Police Officer, American Indian Chief, Construction Worker, Leather Man, and Military Man). So take a step outside the box and think twice before knocking the men and women who strive to make your state and country a better place to live.
Anon, I’m glad to hear that Ken works just as hard as the Leather Man.
Leather man is very under appreciated, and works very, very hard to make himself physically attractive to those of the same sex who want to hold him down and make sweet love just like they do in prison.
Or did you think he made saddles?
Just wondering… Wow. We don’t all keep our minds in the gutter. I think it’s safe to say that Anonymous was referring to the average Joe. Have a little decency.
I will hands down vote for this guy! It takes courage and motivation for someone to be successful in the government, and those are things he does not lack. My hats off to you Mr. Knuppe!
Just wondering – Inappropriate! Get a life!
Ken is a basic, fair, straight shooter. If you`re looking for fantastic promises you won`t get it from Ken.
I agree that Mr.Knuppe’s add is little silly for these days, but he writes what he believes in and thats a value most of todays politician can’t say. I know him in person and he is one best man you will ever meet. Our sociaty needs more man like him, specialy in important positions like governer. Talk to him in person and you will know what i am talking about.

Come out to Union Center and tell the boys what you just said about Larry Rhoden and see how long you last boy…
Larry Rhoden is no body’s fool…or water boy. Strong people always follow those that are stronger till it is their turn to take the lead…I would support Larry in a heart beat.
If he says its black you dont need to go check for yourself… its black not some shade of grey…

Code of the West? What is he, Gary Cooper? I guess I better get him off a donation by sundown.
