I have to echo the statements of Jay Reding - Former US Senator Fred Thompson was awesome last night. Iwish we could have had this fred during the campaign, because this was more of a display of his oratory ability.

Hey John, So what if Fred was an actor, he has held other jobs! The Dem side is full of actors and many of those same actors are mouth pieces for society here and abroad and include in the list mouth pieces for the Dem Party. Face it most actors do not live in the normal world of the majority of Ameicans.
Guy Smile: I am thinking you forgot in your latest post to Detroit, that: if the former “present” in voting record, Illinois Senator would, if Detroit had a million dollars WOULD TAX that million so heavy that Detroit would lose most of it so the former Senator of Illinois from Chicago could vote to send it off to whom if felt deserved it better or pump it into some hidden pork barrel spending on something useless.

You didn’t say how someone had a million. Maybe, you need to add up all your earnings through the years. Be amazed, of course I am assuming you have a job of some sort.
Most people work hard for their money and most of those who climb up the ladder of success have worked hard to achieve. Do you really want to debate this? I also believe this is off topic for this post.
Let’s see…it is a family business. Thus she has been a part of it. She has the savy to run the buisness or her father would not have allowed her to run it in the ground. How do you know she did not work for her money!

I feel bad for Kennedy and what he is going through, but man he has got to go, as Kerry and Pelosi. Someone tell me how in the world Nancy P. got to be speaker! She was not in line for it…who twisted whose arm for that one? Really, I would like to know that one.

I think most rational people know how government and economics work. The campaign managers might not account for rational people, because they don’t count the money they DON’T get.

Then Joe Lieberman speaks and says we need bipartisanship to solve the country’s problems.
Then I get so confused as to what message this medium-sized gathering of aging white people is trying to tell me that I change the channel.

Detroit, you’re beating an economic dead horse. There are many, many proven instances of confiscatory taxation of the rich being harder on the working class then upon the rich.
1. In the 60’s Britain adopted a top tax rate of nearly 80% that led to an enormous outflow of capital. (Remember British rock stars moving to the US to escape high taxes?) Unemployment rose to nearly 25%, which much of the British working class being “on the dole” Today, Great Britain still contends with high unemployment and a permanent welfare class.
2. Congress, in a fit of misguided progressive thinking, enacted “luxury taxes” on yachts and high end cars under Jimmy Carter. The result was a huge drop in yacht purchases, naturally. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported over 10,000 highly skilled, highly paid craftsmen were thrown out of work and a New England boat building economy that was created in colonial times was devastated, never to recover. Today the ultra-rich are buying yachts at an incredible rate: all built overseas.
Anybody who has a job building anything that requires the craftmanship of a skilled American worker will tell you: “let the rich folks spend like crazy, it keeps me working”

I heard they were flying in Bristol’s boyfriend Levi so he could take the stage tonight to prove he hearts Sarah’s daughter. Do the Republicans have any shame?
