Really a great ad. Maybe too little too late though. Wish he would have gotten better name recognition earlier – he may have made a run at Hyphenated.

That’s a great ad.

Finding no South Dakotans familiar with him, Chris Lien turned to his family for help.

Decent ad, hell of a lot better than his first one, but if I was some unknown with a family fortune to blow, I would have been buying up air time way back in March. Much too little, way too late.

It’s a fun commercial. Nice work, Chris, et al.

Yes, great ad. May be best of the year so far. Would have liked to see it in July.

6:50 is again showing his envy of people who are successful. The liberals and their family-money mantra (like it is somehow evil) has gotten really tiresome. But they’ve got nothing else.

Nemec for State Senate at 0:29.

Oh man forget that last comment. I was watching a different video.

As Homer would say DOH.

haha…. “like you had any choice”.

Anyone offended by the sexism in this one. Even if it is a women saying sexist comments, it doesn’t make it right.

Lines like:

“SD deserves a congressMAN” (proper term is Congressperson as in Congressperson Herseth Sandlin)

“I’m (Paul… excuse me) Chris Lein, and i approve this message”

CHRIS LEIN IS APPROVING OF SEXISM…

why am i even doing this? Lein is pretty much down and out, with Herseth Sandlin’s severe lead

Because sexism is an important issue that nearly supercedes this election

Hey Ann…you are stretching it, just like your liberal pal Detroit, only for another bogus reason.
BTW, learn to spell and learn to put a sentence together in the proper way.

So, we are supposed to vote for Lien because his sisters are voting for him? Once again, another ad by Chris Lien that doesn’t give the voters a single good reason to vote for him. And I haven’t seen this one on actual TV yet, I’d be curious to know if anyone else has…

Anonymous 8:46:

Kinda like Johnson’s ad that has his daughter saying Tim is a good father? I’m sure you are equally harder on Johnson since that is the only matter discussed in the ad. Chris’ sisters at least mention issues.

They only mention the issues because Lien won’t!

I am not sure where this idea that losing a state wide election is a good way to build name id to set yourself up for a future race. A loss is a bad thing. It builds name id that you LOST and are a loser. There are NO positives!

If you get in the race, be in it to win!

Troy,

One could be “equally hard” on Johnson, or “harder” on Johnson. But I’m not sure how one could be “equally harder” on Johnson.

Typos notwithstanding, the bigger problem with your post is that you assert that the sisters “mention issues.”

Perhaps you’re watching something different, because there isn’t a single issue mentioned in that ad. The first sister says he’s looking for “solutions” not just pointing out problems, the second says (quietly) that he “listens to South Dakotans” and will represent South Dakotans, and the third says that his family/future are in South Dakota. Those are issues? Have you ever seen anyone campaign against “solutions,” “listening,” or highlight their lack of roots in their state?

There is not a mention of agriculture, energy, the economy, the war, or any other issue. I’ve seen Stephanie’s ads – and they talk about agriculture, wind energy, ethanol, veterans health care, and Ellsworth. Those are issues. I’m sure she’s also in favor of “solutions” and “listening,” even if she doesn’t mention those “issues” in her ad.

Troy, if you’re serious about favoring ads that talk about issues, I’m sure you’ll be “equally harder” on Lien.

12:10 – Have you bothered to go see Lien in person? I didn’t think so. Pretty easy to sit back and say he’s not discussing the issues when you make no effort to find out what he is discussing.

Mellow Redhead, I think asking if someone has seen Lien discuss issues in person kind of wanders off track re: issues being discussed in his ad, no?

Eh. he just uses the buzz words/phrases ‘lives in South Dakota, but doesnt represent the Special interests’ ‘Solutions not problems’ and the billboards “if its broke, lets fix it” without really saying what he will do- or what needs to be fixed. And i never met him, ran into him, know anyone who did……. no wonder herseth will take this election big. No disrespect to Lien, but it was a formidable task to take on a politician who is alreay doing what he says he will do in his ads…… but then to have ads with no substance….. ugh.
