Crazy days…… Posting will get better.
Aaaagh….
You may be noticing that posting has been light. It’s just been one of those weekends which has gone into this week. As the potheads…. er, legalization supporters went on the attack against me this AM (here and here), I just haven’t had time to ignore them sufficiently.
I’ve been trying to do the last minute prep to close on a house tomorrow (thumbs up for adding to our state’s commerce), I had a contract I was shuttling back and forth for another client, I quickly zipped down to Sioux Falls to do some last minute Christmas shopping, and in the middle of it all, someone’s house burned down.
Leaving me to switch hats, and help ensure that a family of 7 had a place to sleep and the ability to buy groceries tonight. However, after switching hats again, and some more Real Estate work early this evening, I might finally have a minute to post.
I do have an update on those who wish to help out the family which has the young man who needs to replace his hearing aids, and I’ll be posting on where people can send a check. There has been a very quick outpouring of help and suggestions, and it’s very heartening that people are very willing to help those in need this Christmas season. It says a lot for those involved and interested in politics - that they do more than just talk about helping their fellow man - they can put aside differences and act with selflessness and charity.
Stay tuned - gotta run to the next appointment.

I wish you’d stop characterizing supporters of medical mj as “potheads.” It’s juvenile, belittling, and truly offensive to those who use it legitimately for medical or therapeutic reasons.
And there ARE people who use it legitimately for medical or therapeutic reasons. The whole effort isn’t some big scam to get pot legalized for everyone. There is merit to it. Almost half (48%) of South Dakotans said so in 2006, and nationwide the overwhelming majority think so.
There’s a debate to be had about if (and how) that merit can be actualized in public policy. It would be nice if you could be a little more respectful toward your opponents in that debate.
PP - you’ve been growing that bowl full of jelly all year and working hard to avoid all of my offers of exercise (road races, raquetball,etc..) - so now put it to use - get out the beard and do your thing big guy —– oops, it’s out, PP is really St PP the Nick
Not everyone arguing for medical weed is a pothead. I’ve never touched the stuff myself and don’t plan to. But of the many potheads I’ve met through the years, I have yet to find one who posed a danger to society worthy of being locked up. Of the occaisional users I know, all are good, productive people who just like to relax with their bong every once in a while - the same way I enjoy a good glass of scotch and a hand-rolled cigar.
People should be able to use it for valid medical reasons for starters, but I just don’t see any reason that it shouldn’t be legal for everyone old enough to drink.
Would it be too much to ask for all the people posting as “anonymous” to think of a clever nickname so the rest of us can tell you apart?
Thanks for remembering that address PP. And don’t ever forget that every heart beats a set determined number of beats in it’s life from birth to death and by working out like a mad man (LEE S.) you are blowing a big time number out the window with blood, sweat, and tears. Scotch and fine cigars on the other hand reduce the threat level of stress so much that they add to the heart beat number.

Geez, Pat, get your priorities in order! Helping a family whose house burned down is more important than blogging?! Wow.
Seriously, if they need a hand with a fund to get back on their feet, let me know and I’ll lend a hand.
