Nice place.   You might be asking myself if I’m mixing my occupations?

No.  I’m just pointing out that there’s a home on the market in Pierre. Word is that it not only serves as a personal residence, but it doubles as office space for one of the Capitol’s lobbyists, as well as one of South Dakota’s citizen activist groups.

Yes, this home just on the market represents the Breard residence. As in Lee Breard, Executive Director of South Dakota’s Conservative Action Council, which served as a front for an out of state group which funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars into the Campaign for South Dakota’s Initiated Measure 10.

I think we might assume that Lee and his wife are leaving South Dakota to move on to greener pastures.  I suspect it was only a matter of time, since attacking the Governor, the Republican Senators, and the SDGOP is usually NOT a productive way to rally them towards your causes.

At the very least, as I’ve been predicting since this last election, I think we can consider the SDCAC’s door shuttered permanently at this point.

Okay – so a note to those who flock under the banner of the South Dakota Republican Party. We’ve done Adelstein’s MAINstream Moderates, and watched as they closed up shop. And now we’ve closed the chapter on Lee Breard’s SDCAC.

Can we take a moment, and stop for a breath?

Instead of wasting time, effort, and money setting up offices and organizations to counteract trends we might see in the GOP, can we now come together and work to build the party?

It’s ok to agreee. It’s ok to disagree – heck, I do it all the time. But after we’ve had our squabbles in the primaries, and at the conventions, if we want to hold majorities in the State House and the Senate, put a Republican Governor back in the mansion, as well as to re-elect Senator Thune, we need to be ONE Republican Party. Not 4/5 of one here, and then a group that plays by itself in the corner.

Elections in 2010 are going to be competitive. And we need to be willing to set aside differences to work together as a team.

Plant some grass.

Nice kitchen. Needs more cabinet space.
The yard needs to be over seeded, I know someone in Pierre who can do that.

Back on topic.
I have been working with some of the techno-geeks at the Republican National Committee. They are asking the local parties, “What do you need in the way of technology from the RNC to get Republicans elected?” I pose the same question to you.

There are already some things in the works.

Will this be a ‘one tent’ GOP?

Elais,

I sure would like to think so. There have been some grumbling from some of the technical folks looking for some guidance and there is no one at the helm.
