Wow. An old SD Blogosphere friend calls it quits due to illness
In the SD Blogosphere’s little world, we’ve always had talented people doing photoshop gags and cartoon posts.
Before South DaCola was doing it, there was Jason Folkerts. And before Jason Folkerts, there was Blind Orange Julius (AKA BOJ) doing some pretty funny stuff, especially his “Herseth Cheerleader” series which actually originated with Sibby. Or as BOJ put it – “I can’t help myself, if a Hillbilly says to do something, I do it.”
If he wasn’t poking lighthearted fun at Democrats, he was doing it at Republicans as well.
And now it looks like he’s calling it a day:
I suppose that after three months of not posting it’s silly to try to explain my lack of activity. But as I sit here typing with one hand, I can assure you that I have a valid reason for the inactivity.
On the fourth of July 2006 while walking to watch fireworks, I fell flat on my face and broke my nose. I never really felt right after that and saw a doctor a month later. That led to an appointment with a neurologist which, in turn, led to an MRI and a spinal tap. And, finally in September of that year I got a diagnosis. Multiple Sclerosis.
and…
So after nearly four years, I’m done with this. I want to thank all of the folks who dropped by, the talented bloggers who linked to this little Bizzaro World, the people who wrote nice things about the goofiness that played out here. While I only did this to make myself giggle, the fact that some people actually enjoyed this site warms my heart.
As I wrote on his website, his lighthearted touch in a world that sometimes tends towards meanness will be missed. And our best to him as he works to stay healthy, and to do the things he enjoys.

Heartbreaker. BOJ deeply inspired us all. Still does. Godspeed, man
