I’m being followed….

I just got a note that I’m being followed. No, it’s not Steve Jarding sending operatives out to look for evidence of my wealth. And it’s not the long gone nutjobs from 2008’s initiated measure 10 telling me they have pictures of the dog in my backyard.

I’ve integrated my webposts with Twitter, and I seem to be picking up a nice steady stream of traffic. At least in the last week, I’ve picked up 30 people following me. The latest is the Business Coalition for Fair Competition:

“The government should not compete with its citizens.

The competitive enterprise system, characterized by individual freedom and initiative, is the primary source of national economic strength. In recognition of this principle, it has been and continues to be the general policy of the government to rely on commercial sources to supply the products and services the government needs.

and…

BCFC President John Palatiello (left) presents an aerial photograph to Senator John Thune (R-SD) (right) .  Thune is the sponsor of the Freedom from Government Competition Act.

Read that here. Cool, huh?

I’m probably a late adopter to Twitter, as I’m busy enough that I don’t have time to fiddle around with new toys, but the tweeting revolution has caught up with the SDWC (or I’ve caught up with it).  I like it as it gives me a little less anonymous indication of who is reading, as opposed to anonymous commenters.

I’m still playing with it’s use, but it’s definitely something here to stay. A couple years ago when we were all trying to start videoblogging, the next iteration of social media would have been the equavalent of an on-line post it?

hey that is John Thune! Do you think he’ll call Tim Johnson out in SD before the end of the August recess if Johnson supports cap and trade, Health Care, Card Check…

I hope so Tim Johnson is not the same person he used to be.

by the way that is a nice photo!

I don’t get what’s so great about Twitter. Being in college when the whole Facebook thing broke out meant I was instantly familiar with it, and I think it really is a great invention. But Twitter just seems to me like you’re just given a small space to write brief thoughts… and apparently you’re not allowed to spell anything correctly and you must use ‘LOL’ or ‘OMG’ at least once. I get the feeling it won’t last long (of course that’s what people said about PC’s).

Besides, what’s the word for someone who uses twitter? ‘Twitterer’ doesn’t flow off the tongue very well, so I say we start calling them ‘Twits.’

you kids are just too newfangled for me. I’m still working on how to email Sen. Thune.

pp Jarding wouldnt waste his time on you.

Hey Braden, remember the CB radio craze? Probably not – you might be too young. Well I do, and I suspect the twitter thingy is going to last about as long as the CB flash-in-the-pan.

And for the same reason too: who CARES what anyone else is doing throughout their day?

“hey bffs jst lft mcds goin 2 da pool yay! l8trz”

Sheesh!

Although, following Sarah Palin’s tweets is kind of fun: sounds like she’s narrating a mescaline trip.

pickles; you and I fundamentally disagree – I firmly believe this county needs cap and trade, Health Care reform/public option, Card Check…

Randall I know you do. But do most Americans??? I don’t think so.

I would be happy with China trying this not USA.
