As I’m in Salt Lake City, oddly enough the old stomping grounds of Annette Bosworth & husband Chad Haber, David Montgomery is noting this evening that Robert Van Norman has assumed the legal duties of her defense.
(At the moment, and ultimately, if she’ll let him)
Curiously interesting too, as I visited with my brother this afternoon, whom happens to be in the local media. He noted he wasn’t unfamiliar with the name of Chad Haber, the Libertarian’s Attorney General Candidate, and was going to do a little digging to see what he could find.
As reported by KCCR News yesterday:
Annette Bosworth has pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of perjury and filing false documents. The 12 counts carry a combined maximum sentence of 24 years in prison plus fines.
During a court appearance Tuesday, Judge John Brown set the jury trial for February 4-6 in the Hughes County Courthouse. A non-evidentiary motions hearing is set for 1:15 p.m. November 13. An evidentiary motions hearing is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. December 17.
Since Bosworth first pleaded not guilty to the charges, her attorney Brandon Taliaferro was allowed by Brown to withdraw from the case. Her new attorney is Robert Van Norman of Rapid City.
Bosworth is accused of fraudulently claiming she was gathering voter signatures when she was really on a Christian mission trip to the Philippines. She received six percent of the vote in the Republican Senate primary in June.
With a trial date set for February, this circus is going to linger on for several more months
