Attorney General’s Office Not Involved with Civil Proceedings in Ronald Johnson Civil Case

PIERRE, S.D.- Because the Attorney General handled the criminal trial for the capital murder cases involving the death of Correctional Officer Ronald Johnson, the Attorney General’s Office is neither handling nor involved in the civil proceedings of Mrs. Lynette Johnson or the Department of Corrections, including the issue of court costs.

  1. who is handling it? This press release is a very funny CYA — somebody running for something?
I saw it on KELO last night as well — at the end of the story they said something like we’ve talked with the AG’s office many times and they want it to be clear that they aren’t handling this matter. I guess I wouldn’t want to be accused of handling it either. Not a good move. But still leaves me with my original question — who is handling it?

  2. I can understand the press release. Last night my wife asked “what is wrong with the attorney general?”
