  1. Wow- sounds like she is running. She just moved to SD a few years ago and now wants to be a US Senator. Didn’t she tell the Rapid City Journal last month she was not running for US Senate and not even thinking about it? Her voting record proves she is far from conservative.

    1. I’ve heard her team is a bunch of Kristi supporters like Jim McIntosh who was her political director.

  2. Welcome to the race Dr. Boz II.

This Borglum gal may be the biggest phony we’ve seen run for statewide office in a decade or more.

  3. i want her to run for senate only if mike rounds is drafted to replace mike pence on the republican presidential ticket.

  4. I really feel bad for her. She has such limited skills, and even less experience. Plus, how does anyone run for office without friends?

        1. Scyller would clean Stacey’s clock and show him how to run a real Senate race. She’s a fresh exciting candidate, and Stace is reheated leftovers.

        2. While Stace was busy checking his blood sugars this young West River gal would be running circles around him.

  5. After she specifically said she wasn’t running for federal office, if she now announces otherwise it will be hard to trust her.

  6. She’s not my top choice for US Senate. Great photo of her though.

  7. I agree . . . great photo. But I have to wonder what got into her head, assuming she is running for US Senate.

She has the perfect opportunity to prove herself at the state level . . . develop a network of supporters . . . pass bills . . . and show that she indeed can pass common-sense conservative solutions for “real problems affecting all South Dakotans.”

After a year as a newcomer, she not shown any of the above to be true. Her record is left of center. She has not brought any significant bills. Does not have the support of her caucus. And has shown herself to be on the losing side (.e. liberal side) on many of her floor votes.

    1. My guess: she’s swapping parties & running as a centrist/ moderate dem. I do prefer her photo to Hansen’s, but that’s an unfair fight. John would look *awful* in a red dress.

Question: will she wear red Monday, or blue?

  8. If she announces she is running for U.S. Senate or U.S. House, she is not “listening to numerous South Dakotans across the state.” There is no way that any significant number of people would encourage her to do either.

    1. I should add – unless they are fearful that if they don’t encourage her, she will accuse them of bullying her.

  9. If she can’t accept good natured advice without playing the victim, how will she do in the Swamp?

  10. She is a liar. She lied about Dusty, she lied when she said she is not running for US Senate last month, and she will lie to get your vote.

  11. Wish you could post gifs on this blog. The lady in red going up against South Dakota’s favorite guy. She on meds? Good luck hun, let me know where to send the shovel.

  12. Conservatives don’t believe nor want a government capable of “providing solutions” to healthcare. Word has it Noem is pushing this challenge or at least nodded in that direction. Why?

    1. Right now she is the only announced candidate in race for US Senate. I hope Rounds runs again.

  13. This is Jim McCintonsh, Gov Noems former political director and maybe Noem trying to take out Rounds. They will fail, and will be negative and in turn will end Borglums political career. I’m sure she will work hard, but the only thing she gets out of this is a sound defeat. Rounds is with Trump over 90 percent of the time, she can only run to his left and that won’t work.

    1. Neal,

Why would Noem’s people work against Rounds? Do they know something we don’t?

      1. They arent “Noem’s people” they are out of state big-for-their-britches fools looking for their next paycheck from Scyller’s PAC. Scyller has a snake whispering in her ear. She is dumb enough to think she will actually win. The only winners will be her crew walking away with a big fat paycheck that came from women thinking they were actually supporting other women. We need to eradicate these outsiders from SD politics. #VoteLiterallyAnyoneButScyller2022

        1. The ex-Noem, now Borglum out of state tandem are telling/inferring that Noem”s supporting this debacle. That’ll get smoked out sooner rather than later.

  14. Soon to be former us senate candidate. Maybe one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in awhile in SD politics.
Why would you start off saying you are going to announce a decision and they go on to to talk about what you are going to campaign on in these different towns. Just say your running instead of looking cheeky and foolish!

    1. This is stupid. Even if Rounds doesn’t run dusty will or someone better than her.

      1. She rattled off some consultanty policy topics. Exactly what did she get done in the legislature, private sector? Serious questions.

  15. Agreed Pat, she says she is conservative. How did she do on the AFP scorecard then…isn’t the link to it on this page?

    1. She moved to South Dakota in 2015 to attend the School of Mines. She has lived most of her life in Montana.

  16. Why hasn’t Rounds announced? Or did I miss it?

I was with some friends the other day and they were saying he might not run again. I don’t think that it would be good for SD if he declined to run. He has a lot of influence as a former governor.

    1. Hes currently supporting his wife who is battling cancer. He will ruh again but family should always come first. He has a lot of cash on hand, he doesn’t need to rush the official announcement. Not to combat Borglum as she is not known around the state.

  17. For Pete’s sake he’s been raising money like crazy. If he wasn’t running you would have heard about it long ago and not through rumors. Just because he hasn’t announced yet doesn’t mean he’s not running.

  18. Anyone want to bet me a taco that Rounds isn’t running? I say he’s running.

  19. Good for Representative Scyller Borglum! Curious as who she will face from the Dems in the general election?

    1. Only chance she has to get to the General Election is if she runs against another Dem in the Primary.

  20. I’m pretty sure the Rounds emails from Skjonsberg asking for money and to join team Rounds for 2020 are proof enough he is running for reelection. My first thought was why would anyone to the left of Rounds try running against him. Then I saw she’s pretending to be a conservative.
