CNN – Keeping the news outlets honest

So, CNN started running commercials basically calling MSNBC and FOX in the bag for the Dems and Repubs respectively. Obviously this leaves CNN alone to simply report the unbiased news. Thoughts?

That post is not as engorged with opportunity to post as Mr. PP usually makes. There are those people like my good friends Bill and Bob, who need some more meat on the bone to wrap their hands around it. I'm just sayin…

It takes a 'developed skill' to write a blog about nothing that will bring out the trolls. Give us some time, and before you know, Bill, Larry and the rest of their pose will be out to get us.

Well, I certainly didn't mean to post this just to bring out the trolls. But I am wondering if anyone seriously thinks CNN is unbiased. I am willing to admit that Fox is right of center most days (certainly in their analysis, not necessarily in their news delivery), but they are no where near as right of center as MSNBC is left of center. Where does that leave CNN's coverage? From my point of view they are still very much to the left. Just wondered if I was the only one.

Also, I know that there are LOTS of other "Mikes" who are posting here, including at least one that has been using the name "MikeH", so I will change my nickname for future posts.

I think generally CNN is mushy. They don't ask the toughest questions and their "news pieces" are just human interest stories. Anderson is so mushy you'd swear he was a marshmallow. Fox is at its best when they probe liberal politicians and MSNBC is best when they are drilling conservative politicians.

Fox is at its worst when it is just talking among conservatives. MSNBC is at its worst when they bring on liberal news people who have an elitist opportunity.

Hannity/Olberman/Maddow have lost their edge. They are so talking point centric.

Mikes C and H. You don't get it yet, do you? On this blog, the HOST is the troll.

That's what's always made it different from the other SD political blogs.

Pat was (is) a one man riot.

Nothing any of us could write would EVER even come close to the outrageous, inflammatory stuff PP threw out from time to time. If you want to walk in those shoes, you're gonna have to get a whole lot nastier.

You have to find people you want to pick on and stalk them relentlessly. Even people who have done you no harm.

You have to be willing to be petty beyond belief.

You have to be able to take some bit of cogent information that is perfectly lucid on its face and twist it like a pretzel until it takes on the exact opposite meaning.

You have to be able to completely ignore significant current events that don't reflect your particular political position. Pretend they never happened.

You have to be willing to make the most outrageous, obvious mistakes and NEVER ever apologize to your readers or reverse your position.

And you have to be able to do all these things with ease, and still stay friends with all your readers… become a veritable Janus of sorts.

Only then will you approach the pompatus of SD BlogMastery that Mr. Powers has achieved here.

You have your work cut out for you gentlemen.

No wonder Pat feels there needs to be 4 of you.

There are, after all, at least 4 of him.
