GAAH! Awful font work, Eye Injuries ensue.

awful_fontI see this morning that the SD Blogosphere’s raging liberal Cory Heidelberger has given up on his blog, Error on line 433 Madville Times, and went with a new one, completely rebranding.

So I went and took a look. Did I say rebranding? GAAH!  Awful font work, Eye Injuries ensue.

Apparently, someone learned about how you can integrate Google fonts into your blog.

  1. Cory is taking his game of deception to a new level with the “free press” label. I tried a comment asking if free press means I get to comment. As of yet, the comment did not appear on the Attack Dakota’s Freedoms, or what was once called Madville.

        1. Responding to a stupid comment does not make said comment clever. If you believe it’s clever then good for you. You made your day. Derp.

Soon, Corey will tell us about all the cool features on his new flip phone.

  3. Gotta admire Dave’s insight:

    “Dave Baumeister

    2015-03-04 at 10:04 .

I suggested a name change about a year ago. Madville Times always sounded like something from a crazy person. ”

A name change ain’t gonna change that!

  4. Cory just confirmed that he is still “mad”…at me. I am banned from “Dakota Free Press”. The correct name should be “Attacking Dakota’s Freedoms”.

    1. Steve,

Take the ban as a badge of honor–because it is.

Affordable Care Act = Unaffordable Joke
Dakota Free Press = Personal Vendetta Forum

The sad part is that he probably has no clue what a joke he is, and is perceived as by those who follow SD politics.

    2. Steve Sibson,

Is Sibby Online now just an anti-Cory/Madville/Dakota Free Press blog rather than expressing your own policy opinions based on your research and experiences? It appears to be turning into an unhealthy obsession possibly reaching into cyber stalking. Rather than have your entire focus on what goes on at whatever this new liberal bog is how about rebuilding Sibby Online? You have a very unique perspective on what is happening here in South Dakota and nationally. Embrace what you have to offer and run with it on Sibby Online and don’t waste your energy on a lost cause.

      1. So, you’re concerned that Sibby’s blog will become just the flipside of Coreys blog?

I agree that Sibby has a perspective not often seen; while I may not understand it all or agree with it, it is worthwhile reading.

I would hate to see Sibby’s blog become as predictably obnoxious, anti-SD, anti-Christian, anti-black, anti-Native American, personal vendetta-settling and juvenile as Coreys blather.

        1. Sibby has more to offer than being obsessed with what Cory/Madville Free Press whatever does. Being banned isn’t all that bad. Take it as a blessing to move on rather than be in a dialog with a few anger filled extremists there. His energy could be better used elsewhere.

          1. The important point here is in regard to the left’s constant attack on conservatives and Christians for being intolerant. It is important to expose Cory’s actions to show that he and his fellow liberals are exactly what they claim to hate…intolerant. Turning the table is why I am banned. But more important than that is to expose their agenda, because they are influencing our young South Dakotans with this hate mongering.

            1. Sibby are you going to change your blog name to the Anti-Neo Marxist Dakota Free Press blog with daily counter points to that liberal blog? 🙂

  5. it will probably be “free” from contamination by anything that a responsible “press” would do.

  6. You might want to rethink the multiple fonts in your rotating header too, Pat. Having it change each time the picture changes gives one the impression of a brand with a case of multiple personality disorder, 😉 Cory’s blog is coming along. Not to worry. As you know, these things take a few days to work the bugs out, but sooner or later with good feedback from gentle readers like you, it settles in to something most of us can at least tolerate.

    1. Bill, you do bring up a good point on something I’ve not given a lot of thought to – formulating “a brand” for SDWC, which is something I expressly stress for candidates, but admittedly haven’t given a lot of thought to myself. Probably because I never contemplated I’d be ten years in.

I spend a bit on the site’s back end, invested to make sure my photos are good, and made sure that I’m feature rich…but you can’t look at it and say something visually screams “SDWC brand.”

      Good food for thought.

  7. “it settles in to something most of us can at least tolerate”

Bill, the last thing that you New Agers at Madville are is tolerant.

    1. Sibby, your new header with the lone tree metaphor works pretty well. Good job. Curious though, if you get to a point where you have more readers than yourself and Mr. Kurtz, are you maybe gonna add a few more trees? A burning bush, maybe? 😉

      1. How about Coreys weed-filled prairie view devoid of movement or life–now THAT’S a metaphor!

        1. Not positive but I think that’s tall bluestem grass, a native grass of the Great Plains. If so, it’s far from being “devoid of life…” The grass has sustained life on the prairie for as long as anyone remembers and way, way beyond that. In that sense, yes would be an apt metaphor on any number of levels (except of course to certain smug, ignorant, urban, neo-con, earth-hating philistines. LOL)

          1. “The grass has sustained life on the prairie for as long as anyone remembers and way, way beyond that. ”

Until it was plowed under to build towns like Aberdeen and churches in Aberdeen that employ urban/urbane folks like the Heildelbergers?

      2. Bill, you may be right about the lone tree metaphor, but there is a growing number of independents who are disenchanted with both parties. Maybe I am just being ahead of the curve.
