How desperate are Dems getting for a Thune Challenger? Well…..

One of my twitter followers pointed this out to me.

How desperate are Dems getting for a Thune challenger? Apparently, they’re recruiting on reddit. Really:

howdesperate

“Are you at least 30 years of age? Have you lived in the US for at least 9 years? Are you politically moderate or liberal? Bonus points if you know what I’m suggesting.”

“Not 30, but are you looking for a candidate to challenge Thune?”

“Yes…The other person who responded didn’t want to.  Know anyone who might?”

Reddit user “availableoregon,” who is apparently a moderator of the Reddit group “Students for Sanders” is out recruiting on the popular website for a challenger to US Senator John Thune, whom it’s looking more and more as if Democrats are going to let the popular Senate go unchallenged for a second term in a row.

If this is how they’re going about it, I don’t think they’re going to find anyone to take him on anytime soon.

  1. What about Craigslist? SDDP could place their desire in the Craigslist “Wanted” section. That’s free isn’t it?

  2. This is sad and desperate. Nevermind quality, experience, intelligence, or leadership – our President proves that Dems don’t care about those qualifications. Now they’re just trolling for literally anyone who is willing and meets the minimum legal requirements to have his/her name on the ballot. This shows a complete lack of respect for the high calling of the U.S. Senate, no regard for South Dakota voters, and that Dems care nothing about the future of our state. It’s all about their singular goal of unseating Thune, with absolutely no care or concern about who will take over after he’s out. Have some standards and some respect for yourselves, Democrats.

As for the Tea Party trolls who keep calling for a Republican challenger to Thune, try putting your time and money where your over-sized mouth is. Field a candidate. No, not the laughable imbeciles your kind has consistently run in the past, imbeciles like Nelson and Hubbel. Again, South Dakota voters are far too intelligent for people like them (a fact they have proven time and time again when they have rejected those imbeciles at the polls in landslide votes). To use a famous expression, stop being part of the problem, be part of the solution. You Tea Party zealots are just as bad as the Dems, desperately scraping the bottom to turn up any available dross to slip into a slot against proven leaders who have given their lives to making South Dakota’s future brighter.

    1. i’m constantly surprised that the people you’d presume to have a little power and gravitas, the mcgovern and kneip generation of democrats, are just invisible while the whiz kids hold their daily romper room sessions in the sddp headquarters. someone needs to google ‘john kennedy democrat’ and read about what that means.

  3. “. . . politically moderate or liberal?” How ’bout Socialist; that is where the Democrat party is headed anyway. How about putting something like, “Do you hate America? Do you know that America isn’t really exceptional and needs to be taken down several notches? Do you believe that abortion is the answer to sooooo many of the world’s problems? Then we want to hear from YOU!!”
