Hughes County Jury Convicts Bosworth of Election Law Violations

PIERRE – Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that a Hughes County jury has found Annette Marty JackleyBosworth, 43, Sioux Falls, guilty of 6 counts of offering false or forged instrument for filing and 6 counts of perjury.

All counts are class 6 felonies punishable by a maximum sentence of 2 years imprisonment and/or $4,000 fine.

“I want to thank our citizen jurors for their service, the prosecutors and the witnesses for preserving the integrity of our election process in South Dakota,” said Jackley.

Bosworth was indicted in June 19, 2014, on multiple counts of perjury and filing false election documents for attesting to voter signatures for her nomination petitions for United States Senate while she was out of the country.

The case is being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.

  1. …and all brace for the likely appeal(s) – unless by a miracle the prosecutors and Dr. Bosworth could agree on a sentencing recommendation. I know – impossible to conceive…

  2. I believe the conviction, regardless of the sentence, will result in the loss of her medical license.

  3. Marty should offer her complete immunity and commutation of sentence in exchange for her testimony against her husband for all the frauds he has committed. She’s clearly nuts, he, on the other hand is a sociopath, evil and is the one that belongs in prison.

    1. Why would he offer immunity in exchange for testimony? You can’t believe anything she says anyway. I know. I was sitting next to her when she described how she cancelled an appointment with The POTUS to take a meeting at Facebook HQ.

  4. Picking on poor, sweet, not so innocent, woman! Yeah I couldn’t say any of that with a straight face. Justice was served no matter what the sentencing. Oaths matter. Election integrity matters. Unfortunately I’d bet they use this as a fund raising stunt.

  5. I posted this on another thread, but it’s relevant here.

Annette Bosworth could have stopped the “Crazy Train,” but thought it was in her best interest to generate a media driven fund raising campaign.

She’ll most likely lose her medical license with a felony conviction.

She apparently feels she’ll be compensated well enough by he mailing list of contributors supporting her “fight” against the “corrupt and criminal establishment” that enforces the well written and easily understood laws of South Dakota.

    I hope she’s wrong, but I’m afraid I’m not.
She’s going to go into “Martyr Mode” now, and she may just find enough low information supporters to provide them with enough of a revenue stream to continue this charade indefinitely.

If there truly is a “sucker born every minute,” she’ll be milking them for all they can.

  6. The SD D and R party teamed up and worked together to take out the no good non-profit missionary Dr. that takes care of Indian, Homeless, Hutterites and the poor. Shame on you Dr. Boz., You need to be part of the Medical industrial complex, or go to jail, go directly to jail.

    1. Tara, nobody but CAH cared. He was the one who exposed her, and ranted about how she would get away with it because she’s a republican. Well, she didn’t get away with it.

      1. Anne, I don’t recall ever ranting that Bosworth would get away with it because she was a Republican. It’s always been clear to me that she is not a real Republican, or a real political anything. If I have forgotten some comment I made that supports your statement, please remind me.

        1. When will the AG charge Corey Heildeberger with voter fraud (which includes a perjury charge if he voted using an absentee ballot) for voting in SD election(s) while a resident of another state?

      2. And had he not kept pushing the issue, this ‘conversation’ would not be taking place.

  7. This is why Sodak can’t have nice things. Y’all make such a fuss over such a petty crime. You need some “real” criminals for a proper outrage. PREDICTION: Dr. Bosworth will get a year’s probation after which she’ll move to Alaska and prescribe medical marijuana to the Republicans up there rabid for the “weed” and become a trusted advisor to Ms. Palin. *mic drop
