  1. Very shallow commercial but regardless the many errors in her campaign and with the Tapio attacks Dusty will leave these two in the dust on his way to the nomination. She should just run for re-election for the office she is in now.

    1. Recycle, reuse should be Marty’s slogan. Good grief has Kristi done anything in 8 years?

  2. The stage ad still holds the record for worst political ad ever. This is pretty good. So is dusty’s new one.

  3. I predict 52/48 Jackley.

Noem will go on to be a token “conservative” talking head for CNN.

    1. That’s a pretty ignorant statement. If you knew Noem at all you would know she’d have no interest in something like that.

I think your 52-48 is a possibility but Kristi will just go back to the farm and go about her life. Maybe run for one of the Senate seats when they’re open.

      1. If you lose one race just wait for the next opportunity to run for something? That’s the definition of a career politician.

        1. Haha nice try. I was just pointing out that I don’t think she’ll become a talking head on CNN if she loses.

          1. Actually. You said “Maybe [she’ll] run for one of the Senate seats when they’re open”. I simply noted that that is exactly what a career politician would do.

    2. Jackley wins the nomination but Kristi goes to Fox and is one of the talking heads there or she gets a lucrative job in DC. She really fit into the DC culture and why not make money and work to pay off those terrible estate taxes from the farm.

        1. Kristi does not have to be on at the same time as Hannity. What if Tomi Lahren and Kristi were to re-unite and have their own show on Fox? Two South Dakotans.

                1. Kristi was a Rubio cheerleader who latched onto Trump once it was clear he was the Alpha Male. She’s an opportunistic ladder climber.

  4. This is a good ad. It reminds me a lot of Larry Rhoden’s for Senate 4 years ago. That was also a good ad. Good commercials don’t always mean you win. Ask Larry.

PS- Dusty’s debt ad was better. His stage ad was worse. Shantel is a good candidate, but Dusty will still win. Tapio being in the race almost clinches that.

    1. Well considering the same guy, Casey Phillips, did the Rhoden ad and this one, it makes sense that they remind you of each other.

    2. I just hope Kristi’s loss doesn’t damage Rhoden. Might be best for him if she doesn’t announce her LT pick.

      1. Does anyone expect either candidate to announce their LT pick before the primary? I don’t

  5. The “depth” issue for Krebs is real. She doesn’t have Dusty’s grasp of the issues or an ability to articulate outside her 3 speaking points.

Movie looks good til you hit the unmute button.

    1. Dusty is a policy wonk, tapio is an idiot.

Tapio has little to no impact on this race.

2 guys will have as much impact as 2 trump people.

  6. This a good ad for Shantel but agree that it’s not enough. Tapio still comes in at 12% + or -. Dusty wins largely on the weakness of the field. Having said that, his last debt ad was excellent. That ad swayed my wife to vote for him. The stage ad, however, was not well received and the ‘the full Dusty’ bit is amateurish.

As for Shantel, she’s not doing anything to damage herself, but if she tries to run for SOS that would anger a lot of Republican activists who are backing Barnett.

Dusty wins this one with a good margin.

    1. I dont think Tapio plays a spoiler role in this race at all. Sure he will get his 10% but those people probably wouldnt vote anyway.

There are only around 20 or 25% of moderate Republicans.

In 2010 both Noem and Curd ran to the right. And they had over 60% of the vote between them.

Nelson and Dusty are on a similar plain but dusty is a far superior candidate.

    2. Would she be swayed if Dusty told the entire story. It’s easy to balance a budget when the federal government gave South Dakota a huge one time stimulus money.

  7. Krebs has 3 talking points and no depth. If you ask her a random question about congress you get a generic “drain the swamp” response. She’s too ignorant for Congress and that says a lot!

  8. You don’t drain a corral. I think she means feedlot. The line tried to get a little cute and wasn’t pulled off.

  9. I like the ad and that she is spreading those campaign dollars around the state.

  10. I listened to Tapio’s podcast which he has posted on Facebook. He sounds good and comes across very knowledgeable. Good values and willing to fight for what is right.

  11. 2 will go and 1 will show. June 7th can’t come soon enough is where the GP is now.
