Liberal State, Federal PACs, Teamsters coming in with nearly 500K for Sutton. And non-cowboys using the Cowboy Caucus PAC to filter donations.

Liberals are throwing a hail-mary pass for Billie Sutton in the last days of the election, according to this supplemental filing for Billie Sutton for Governor:

We’re seeing a LOT of donations coming in from out of state, including from NEA, Teamsters, and others, including the “Democratic Action PAC” which kicked in $375,000.

Locally, the “Cowboy Caucus PAC”  sent another 35K. Although, maybe they should change the name of it to the “Rich Liberal” PAC, considering where they got their money:

We’re down to about a week before the election.  More stuff to come!

  1. I heard Billie’s new radio ad this morning and had to laugh. He said he was “physically” (4 syllables) conservative ! For a guy who has been a banker for years, and served on the Appropriations Committee, doesn’t he know that the word is “fiscally” (3 syllables)? And what does that say about the people helping him make those ads? The best ads the Teamsters and NEA can buy ?!

  2. Got to love the hypocrisy of these Democrats

They complain about outside money but then they take it themselves and find all these ballot measures also with out-of-state money but it’s okay when they take it

    1. I love when people say that Billie has been a businessman for years! Years?? He is 34 years old….34 and is qualified and seasoned to lead the state????

      1. My thoughts exactly. He gets a job from his daddy-in-law and he is a businessman? Everything adds up to him being a liberal without enough experience and the support of Washington DC.

No thanks, Billie. You just stay in Burke.

  3. The politics of personal destruction lines have been crossed. Just remember, there are many conservative Democrats in SD. Check his voting record not those stupid Bernie Hillary commercials. Billie will be a uniter, not a divider

    1. I see you have stopped pretending to be a Republican, Tara. Glad we have had that breakthrough. We can all look back on the last couple years as a bygone era. “Remember that time when Tara Volesky was pretending to be a Republican and giving the party all kinds of bad advice? Yeah, she didn’t fool anyone.” Chuckles all around.

      1. I don’t pretend anything. You are the pretender using a fake name. At least I don’t hide behind a fake name.

    2. Tara, check hus voting record. On the SCU scorecard, he’s NEVER broken 50%…. UNTIL he became candidate for governor. He literally changed his voting for this election!!

Not to mention lack of experience… that should equally scare people…

      1. He is about right in the middle of the road with the Republicans. I really don’t see much difference between the 2 candidates……yes I have checked it….he is far from liberal.

        1. So Billie boy didn’t mean it when he said he liked Bernie’s ideas? Is he just a chameleon then? If you can’t see the differences you are not very perceptive.

  4. I think I have been registered almost everything, and I keep going back to Independent. Both parties are broken and that is why Independent registration is surging. By the way I did vote Trump. Does that make me a commie? `Sometimes people hide behind their party label because they just can’t think for themselves. I like to vote for the candidate, not the party.

  5. I’m learning from this election that SD needs a strong independently elected auditor with the power to audit state government.

    People want more accountability.

    Billie isn’t the answer.

    1. I think some enhancement of powers of the SEcretary of State and State Auditor will address every issue AND MOST IMPORTANTLY have the person directly accountable to the voters.

These extra constitutional, unaccountable secret committees are an anathema to a democracy. Ultimately, they morph into an entity similar to the Politboro or Chinese Central Committee.

      1. So why have the legislators sat on their hands for so long after the im22 repeal? Their lack of being proactive is the source for a lot of voter support for something to be done. Right now, they can’t point to anything that actually serves the purpose for what voters are demanding. They just keep kicking the can down the road and acting like we will forget.

  6. 11:52,

I think they felt it was the legislators responsibility to do so and made the reforms in GOAC (reforms which I think most of the legislature including Democrats like ala Soli’s public opposition to W specifically mentions these reforms). I just think the better solution is as I suggest. I want the legislative oversight to be more involved in policy vs. the intricacies of misuse of public funds.
