  1. Nice list, he has also had a lot of $250 events. Conservatives around the state are locking in for Marty.

    1. I am pretty sure they are not related, however, I see Pat Miller is a co-host. Her husband, Walter Dale, was Gov. Mickelson’s Lt. Gov

      1. I’m pretty sure the Jackley’s were Walt Miller’s attorney for a lot of years.

        Small state. Lot’s of history.

  2. How in the hell can any law and order conservative get behind a guy who only seems to sign onto other AG’s useless lawsuits instead of bringing the EB-5 and Gear Up folks to justice? Mickelson (or Noem or Krebs) will clean the floor with this guy. He is going to go from 1st to 3rd in a race he would have won four years ago….before the dark times, before…the Empire.

    1. I heard Marty’s speech tonight and he pledged to clean up the corruption in Pierre. Go get ’em AG!

      1. Too little too late, Marty had plenty of opportunity to clean up the mishandelings that have given South Dakota state government a black eye. Instead he choose to protected the men in the high castle. Mickelson took charge and passed a conflict of interest law and Marty had nothing to do with it.

      2. Shantel has done more in two years to clean up corruption in Pierre… she’s the one that should be running for Governor.

    2. Maybe you missed it, but Jackley has filed criminal charges in both EB-5 and Gear Up cases.

    3. Jackley has too much baggage to win a primary against Mickelson ( or Krebs or Noem). The GOP has a deep bench with a lot of good people that have proven they have what it takes. Marty should sit this one out for the good of the party. What don’t need Mayor Mike to be our next Governor.

  3. Cynthia Mickelson is the Treasurer for Friends of John Thune. Mark Mickelson has gained the support of South Dakota’s biggest political powerhouse. I don’t think the race for Governor is going to be that competitive, unless Noem decides to run.

    1. The “powerhouse” team hasn’t had a race in more than a decade. That kind of arrogance will backfire. But hey, if that’s the case, I look forward to the eminent announcement and the immediate falling in line by the primary voters.

      1. Well the Thune team did have to step in to finish the job for the Rounds team after they faltered. And a lot of that team played a big role in Noem’s defeat of Stephanie in 2010. They’ve definitely been active since 2004.

          1. It’s a good thing the powerhouse team isn’t facing SHS. credit for single handedly running every successful GOP race in SD history would require them to get off the soapboxes and actually do work. That’d be a sight most haven’t seen.

            1. How is the fact that Thune himself hasn’t had a race since 2004 their fault?

And yes, they have had a hand in most of the big GOP wins in the last 10 year. They don’t get all of the credit but some.

    2. Mickelson has almost $600k cash on hand and Marty has $127k. Marty has been AG for 6 years and still can’t raise money.

    3. She’s been Thune’s Treasurer for a long time, before Mark was a potential candidate. I don’t think that fact is an indication of Thune’s support. It is more an indication of the Mickelsons’ support for Thune.
