    1. Warning, click on this link and you will be spammed with lies and hate for recovering addicts. Would you say the same about Angela Kennecke’s daughter?

The SiouxEmpire blog is not tolerant of people with whom they disagree. Hate has a home with them.

    2. Does not take a lot of guts. They are not neighbors. The older couple were neighbors to Billie’s grand parents 60 years ago! Now they live 30 miles away! Not neighbors! Pretty disingenuous. The other guy, also not a neighbor! Also not a reputable or honest guy. I won’t put anyone down, just Google him!

    3. So much for South Dakotans being neighborly, I guess SD has jumped on the hate train too. SD is not 100% republican like most of you think. We need a governor for ALL SDans, not just the flaming red ones.

    4. Look what is happening, social media is turning everyone against eachother and into crazy people, me included. Lets put our phones down and talk to one another, I bet we all have more in common than we think.

  1. Billie is running as Republican light that he’s a conservative… When he is in fact a liberal

There is no reason to change South Dakota blue

  2. Can’t wait to see all the Castlewood, South Dakota supporters of Billie commercial talk about the real Kristi Noem they do not want as Governor.

    1. I agree, I can’t wait until some of Kristi’s neighbors comment on her acreage, I mean “ranch” in Hamlin county.

    2. I’ve heard people from her church wouldn’t put a Sutton sign in their yard because she is vindictive.

  3. A remarkable lack of substance. Just more mud. We should expect more out of a candidate, but then look how the attack ads worked so well against Jackley. A sorry mess.

  4. Snowflake or South Dakotan? Snowflakes can’t handle the truth, true conservative South Dakotans just want the truth.

    1. Ps. Name calling isn’t helpful in bringing civility back. I am a SDakotan born and bread and I am definitely NOT getting truth from the Republicans “do as I say not as I do” menality.

  5. Why is Kurt Evans allowed in any of the debates? Why is he even running? He admitted he does not know much on subjects that the real two candidates addressed. He just fumbled. What a waste of viewer and serious candidate time.

    1. Kurt Evans hi-jacked the Libertarian convention. DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM. As hard as that is for me to say.

  6. Worst ad ever! OMG, who came up with that thing? I was called by one of Kristi’s supporters asking if I saw that nasty ad from her neighbors.

    Laughing Out Loud

  7. Wow. This is devastating. Call it mud slinging or nasty all you want but it takes a whole heck of a lot for your neighbors, especially in rural South Dakota, to agree to do an ad like this. I’m inclined to believe them and so will many other voters.

    1. exactly can’t wait to hear from Kristi’s neighbors and how she worked so hard to pay off those death taxes all those years or do they still owe on that dredded death tax? Poor Kri$ti.

    2. Can’t wait for the ad where Grandma Lillibridge goes on camera and says Billie tracked mud in her house. Keep your wheels clean, Billie! Powerful stuff. Plenty of substantiation in this powerful ad.

    3. I take this with a grain of salt. Who knows if they have a vendetta against Billie and they see this as a way to finally get back at him.

Also the guy in the purple shirt was the former mayor of Gregory Billie lives in rural Burke. I’m sure they know each other, but to call him a neighbor sounds like a stretch.

    1. I don’t identify with an inexperienced Bernie and Hillary supporter who got a cushy job from his in-laws.

    1. I like toast. Slap on some South Dakota dairy butter, a little jam, cup of coffee and read the paper to see our next Governor Sutton next action to make South Dakota Strong!

      1. Your gonna need something a little stronger than coffee I bet when you read your paper and it says Governor Noem.. lol.

      2. Not devastating at all. I was going to vote for Kristi till I saw that ad. Now I see what kind of campaign they are running. I’m voting for Sutton – I don’t believe those people. South Dakota is a small state. I know several people who know him and all say he is a good honest man.

  8. WOWZA, shoulda run a pretty quick background check on these folks before you put em on TV, bad time for a YUGE mistake…

    Convicted druggies for Kristi!!

      1. Kristi is tough on drugs. She’s also compassionate for recovering addicts who have done their time and are working for forgiveness. Democrats push them to the street and that’s only after they’ve used them for political advantage.

            1. There are other FDA approved drugs available that heal in the same manner as medical mj. If put on the ballot and the people of SD vote for it, I don’t doubt she’d support the people’s choice.

        1. Uh you’ve got that exactly wrong. Hilarious. All you blind republican supporters. Try this novel thing called FACT FINDING

            1. I can help… 2 democrat run cities seeing a growing homeless population: San Fransisco and Mpls. SF has serious drug issues, the streets are littered with needles and the mayor thinks higher taxes will help.

  9. Holy sh*t the guy in the purple shirt in this ad is a convicted drug thief. Noem’s Dirt diggers f*cked up real bad….

    1. Leftists, always willing and ready to reach out with support to those struggling.

Why you got to hate on recovering addicts? Would you go into an AA or NA meeting and say the same? I see hate has a home in your heart.

  10. If thieving drug users support Kristi (and vice versa, she ran the ad, not the convict), it must be because they are exactly like her in every way right? Similar to Billie and Bernie. Good for the goose, good for the gander I say.

  11. I haven’t heard too many good things from Kristi’s neighbors out of Hamlin county. Does she know anything about campaigning in a positive way?

  12. Oh, the irony of Lincoln County Delegate defending the “tough” nature of this ad with their politics aint beanbags quote. How long until the vapid defenses of this outright blunder amount to, “WAAAAAAH, they are just picking on Kristi” or even more likely, this ad and the corresponding comments are deleted.

    1. The way some people talk on this site, the governors mansion should be made into a shrine for NoshowNoem.

  13. The people in the ad should have identified themselves. What kind of neighbors–especially South Dakotans–would stoop so low to be featured in an ad criticizing their neighbor? It’s despicable of them and of the campaign.

      1. I don’t think small town South Dakota was being paid to be in a commercial. Stating their opinion like the druggy in Kristi’s video.

  14. I am said, convicted drug thief/scum. Almost 10 years ago I became addicted to pain pills that I was prescribed to treat my Crohn’s Disease. While in the hell of the addiction, I did some things I am not proud of and was proseccuted for it and ultimatley recieved a suspended imposition of sentence. I was the mayor of Gregory at the time and I embarrassed myself, my family, my friends and my community. But since that time, I have went above and beyond to help others who suffer with addiction and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I worked with Attorney General Jackley to get the drug monitoring bill passed in SD and testified in the senate judicial commoitte in support of the bill. It was very embarrassing and humbling. But, if it helped even one addict get help before they got to the place I was, it was worth it. My testimony was also used in Georgia to pass a similar bill. I also spoke at the SD state pharmacists convention to help pharmacists to spot people with addictions. I facilitated the first “take back” day in Gregory County for unused prescriptions. I have also ran 2 marathons to help raise money for children fighting IBD and been on a mission trip to help poor people in the Dominican Republic. All of these things cant and wont ever erase what I did. I live with it everyday and it was all my fault. Nobody had to “dig” me up. I have always been very open about what happened. I had to be. It was all over the news. Atleast the bad stuff was. I have served on my church board, the gregory housing board and coach many of our local youth teams. I have tried my best to SHOW the people affected by my actions, my famiy, friends and community that I was sorry for what happened. I dont mind taking the feedback from the situation that I created years ago. But Kristi Noem had nothing to do with it. Again, I will never be able to fully regain the trust of everyone and I understand that. Both candidates have expressed the need for more help for addicts and their families and I will be there to help regardless of who sits in the governor’s mansion in Pierre.
    Wade Juracek

    1. Thank you for your explanation, Mr. Juracek. The anonymous flame-throwers can go to hell.

    2. GOPDAD – Behind you 100%. Your candor is very refreshing and appreciated, and I know I’m not the only one who thinks so. If only canonized saints were allowed to give their opinions and endorsements, there would only be silence and no political discourse in this country.

    3. Thanks for sharing your story, Wade, some will never get to do that. My oldest’s father overdosed 2yrs ago, it was a very sad day for him. You, you get live another day, keep up the good fight.

    4. Thank you for sharing, the life you’re living now is your greatest testimony.

As Mr. Hadley stated above, the anonymous flame-throwers can go to hell.

  15. I thought Democrats were supposed to be a compassionate party. Who among us doesn’t have something in our past that we wish wasn’t there, but either through experiences or by the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ we have turned our lives around. Yeah, there are probably neighbors of Kristi’s that don’t agree with her policies as well as these neighbors that don’t agree with Billie’s. Why can we South Dakotans not have different opinions without tearing each other apart. That goes for both parties. The mud slinging isn’t just one sided as so many of you are indicating. There’s a lot of stories that could be told of what is going on in the Sutton campaign, but some of us chose to not make it public knowledge.

  16. No need for personal insults. Democrats showing their true colors. If you have a problem with someone in the ad, so be it, scroll on by. There were several of us that could have made personal attacks on people in Billie’s Republicans For Sutton ad, but we chose to ignore and move on. We are all free to have our opinions and to place our mark on the ballot for whomever we feels to line up closest with our beliefs. No need for personal attacks. After all, I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t have a “past”.

    1. Its laughable that you point out Democrats running people down when I’ve seen republicans do it just as much. Heck there the other day I saw a photo posted to facebook with a photo of Billie and a photo of Kristi with the caption that said “only one will/is able to stand up for South Dakota.” While I know Kristi would never endorse this type of message one of her followers did. I was also disappointed to see how many likes and comments it got. I think we can all agree both parties have pretty crappy people who support them.

  17. Is this bullshit or what? Republicans, including Kristi, have bashed Billie and called him horrible things. Mr. Juracek, assuming GOPDAD is really him, makes one “amends” and the republicans here empathize and still go on the attack against Billie.

If you don’t want to be scrutinized- don’t put yourself in the public and scrutinize another person. You’ve entered the political ring again – and your past has been brought up.

I think your candor here is great but if you were sincere you wouldn’t have brought it up- but it appears it’s only been done in damage control for the fact that people are bringing up your past.

This also shows Kristi’s campaign staff is desperate, I’ll advised, and didn’t actually screen this person. Now they have another fire to put out.

It’s making more and more people move to Billie. I did-

  18. Did that neighbor say they lived down by the river in a white van with Pro-Trump and Anti-CNN stickers, did I get that right?

      1. What was it again you were going to say to recovering addicts, SiouxEmpire? You weren’t very clear with your first comment on how you judge them.

        1. I’d say I have more sympathy for his victims than him. He doesn’t want to get a bloody nose he should stay out of political attack ads.

          1. I agree and it looks like he has some unresolved issues including anger he needs to work on than attack his neighbor.

          2. You have sympathy? Please. They way you attacked him is sickening. He served his time, and is working to make amends. You know, what NA teaches. There are others working for the path he has taken, some didn’t get that opportunity. And you degrade him for his efforts.

            1. I know your type. You’ll defend him until you’re blue in the face but if someone who didn’t look or think like you did the same thing you’d be handing out pitchforks.

          3. I read his comment. It appears to me he has expressed remorse. It also appears he is working to rebuild trust he rightfully lost. It also appears to me he is taking responsibility for his actions. It also appears to me he is trying to help people in a similar situation. It also appears to me he does not hide his actions. It also appears to me he is willing to take the bloody nose without attacking the attackers. It also appears to me he is authentic. Are you?

              1. Apologize for what? He is telling us what he knows about Sutton. You can either take his word for how well he knows Sutton or not. To apologize would be admitting that he does not know Sutton as well as he says he does. I have no reason to doubt him.

  19. I dont think you have a clue who Billie is and what a mistake it will be to put him in the governors office. Wade isnt afraid to go public with anything. And hes the first person to tell you of his past back here! At least he is honest.. way more than I can say about Billie.

  20. I think it fair to note who Kristi has in her ads. I do think it tells us a bit about the people noting Mr. Juracek’s foibles do so anonymous.

I think it fair for Kristi and especially Mr. Juracek to explain/defend himself.

I think the person who is the biggest scumbag in this discussion is the one who questions the sincerity of Mr. Juracek. In this society, people who have paid their debts to society do not have to wear Scarlett Letter’s about their past. But, if brought up, they can discuss however they want. Scumbag, I dare you to be as brave as Mr. Juracek and disclose your identity. I dare you coward.

    1. No- he’s been posting under GOPDAD while no one knew who he was for months at least. He does not get a pass for finally breaking his anonymity. He only did so to explain himself and change his public image.

Take a break from the kollaid to come up for sense of reality.

      1. Perhaps, he preferred his comments to be taken “as written” without the obvious malice directed toward him by anonymous trolls.

        Perfectly understandable.

Those that use a regular, identifiable “handle,” rather than a generic anonymous comment, are generally identifiable by those who actually know them, but it does serve to avoid personal smearing by those afraid to identify themselves.

        1. Mr and Mrs. Beal-
Honest Ave said it best: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

I often find your comments foolish and in the abstract, typically not even relevant to the exchange of ideas or Fox News talking points usually posted here.

Just some honest thoughts and a point of view-

  21. I commend Mr. Juracek for coming foward and doing great things in the field of addiction, but maybe the commercial would have been more credible if the Noem campaign had him address drug addiction instead of a neighborly attack on Billie. I am sure Kristi has neighbors that don’t like her either. That’s just life.

  22. Everybody knows that this is the type of ad you run when everything else fails. She may still get lucky and win but it won’t be this ad that puts her over the top.

The instant reaction most people will have is that she is using his neighbors as a political weapon and it’s a low blow.

      1. You got it right – nest. Billie will be in his ‘nest’ while Kristi is hunkering down in the mansion in a few months!

  23. I guess I too am a neighbor of Billie’s, since I live on Gregory County like these folks.

I will have to respectfully disagree with the portrayal of Billie’s character here. I have found him to be straightforward and true in my 30 years of interactions, from school days, to his time as a state senator, to his days as my financial planner and member of various community activities together.

    1. Huh.. i too am his neighbor and have known him for 30 some years. I have watched his decline into the liberal mindset and can honestly say it was incredibly dissapointing to watch. We are not voting for someone to run the state cause they are “nice”. Nice doesnt mean qualified or experienced. So continue singing his praises as your “financial planner”, but he has no business being governor or in politics for that matter.

      1. No, you are right. We cant just vote for someone just because of niceties. I am just trying to give examples of actual interactions that make me want to vote for him. I felt the examples went beyond “being nice.” But we obviously both get to have our opinions, and will vote for whom we each feel will do the best job. My point more so was that just 3 people dont have the only opinion on what he is really like. And my opinion isn’t the only one either.

        1. Sure he’s nice. I think everyone can agree on that. This is no time to have that as a deciding factor. The next Governor will appoint to Supreme Court Justices which impact generations of South dakotans to come. We simply can’t take a chance of turning South Dakota to the left and lose the weight of life we all enjoy. If I wanted that I’ve moved to California or New York.

            1. don’t need to..we know Kristi is nice…known her for years in the public eye and in private

              1. Sorry not buying it. What kind of person campaigns at church? Wrong place Kristi. And the way she glared at Billie in the last debate…not a nice person. Also, you can tell alot about a person by who they surround themselves with and there are people that work for her who are proven to be beyond evil and liars!!

        2. Guess it was a few more than 3 people.. the shove everything down your throat tactics or Renee and Kelsea didn’t help him win Tripp or Gregory County. Using the Burke school as a campaign ground rubbed many the wrong way also. The insistence Gregory County build a new Court House instead of fix the roof and pay no attention to roads, and finnally the best friends get a job in the county government, all didn’t do justice for her husband. Thanks Kelsea for your liberalism.

  24. Mr Juracek deserves credit for his fight, but I believe we can find someone better to help inform us on the moral qualifications of the governor of SD. Also, just because he served his time does not absolve him of the other, non-legal consequences of stealing narcotics from a dying man.

    1. This ‘Anonymous’ should show the same courage of GOPDAD, Wade and identify him/herself. I can almost guarantee they are part of Billie’s campaign. Wade showed courage in many ways and the fact
of his ‘mistakes’ does not remotely discredit his opinion as to Billie’s (when does one drop the the childish form of ones name?, it’s cute at 20 at 34 and running for office just juvenile) true nature. If he wanted to run as a Republican and true conservative he would have gone through the republican primaries, likely not winning, all else is smoke and mirrors. He supported Obama and Hillary Clinton. Have y’all lost your senses? You cannot be a married bachelor, hot and cold and anti abortion whilst loving Hillary and Obama. A leopard doesn’t change his spots and obviously he’s a liberal trying to fake his way into the Governors mansion. Then the real begins. He’s a liberal and his ‘better’ half is ten times worse. Wake up South Dakota whatever Kristis faults she is far more genuine and us the record to show it. Yes Politics is a dirty game and it takes a certain type of person to want to play it . There may be some genuine ‘publi servants’ in the world but to suggest BILLY is a conservative is a total joke. Wake up. Once again he supported Obama and Hillary. Do you really think when push comes to shove, if South Dakotans are soft headed enough to elect him, he won’t be another party apparatchik for the desperate and wayward democrats. The historical party of slavery now super pro immigration(to bolster their flagging support) and every other nonsense. Look what Obama’s affordable care did to working Americans health care cost and deductibles. One (little Billy) cannot be hot and cold. He cannot be anti abortion while supporting a nightmare destructive force like Hillary Clinton who favors abortion as a choice right up to birth. The current six month limit is not enough for her bloodlust. Little Billy, the leftist leaning party apparatchik and comrade voted for her. Wake up South Dakotans why not identify yourself this Anonymous, show nearly as much courage as GOPDAD, at least he is repentant. I bet you’re part of the campaign aren’t you???😘God bless America, God bless South Dakota and God bless Kristi Noem.

  25. Kristi has run a desperately low-class campaign since the primary. I don’t want this mean spirited woman in a position of power and authority. Vote Billie and hope the GOP fields a better candidate in four years.

      1. I would support Paul Tenhaken. He’s a genuine leader who doesn’t need to resort to smear tactics that NoShowNoem does.

  26. Kristi is by far the best choice for governor & the only one qualified. One needs to look at how she handled herself at home, in the state legislature and as our Congresswoman to understand the real Kristi Noem. So many false accusations have been said about her because she is high profile for SD. We have to look beyond these ads and realize the campaign is just temporary. Candidates don’t put these ads together, their media people do. I think those of us on both sides of this race have cringed a few times when our candidate’s ads have come on. It will all be done soon! Two good people, but only one will provide the strong leadership and bring great things to our state. That’s Kristi.

    1. Integrity matters. Right now power and influence are on the line. This is when integrity matters most. Kristi is showing the whole state her true character.

      1. Experience matters. Right now, our SD conservative way of life is on the line. This is when policies, plans and experience matters most. Kristi is the obvious choice.

      2. Yes you are absolutely correct. Integrity matters. Hillary supports ninth month abortion, taking away our second amendment right to self defense etc., etc. No true conservative would ever be on tape saying they “support Bernie Sanders policies but voting for Hillary.” He voted for the ultimate nightmare of America Hillary Clinton, supported Obama to the bitter end. I’m guessing he still has great admiration for our previous ‘communist’ er’ I mean democratic Commander in Chief. All other talk is ‘smoke and mirrors’. Conservative? Yeah right while he cheers on the great destructive forces in American political life. You cannot talk out of both sides of your mouth. Ones ‘integrity’ is dictated by Ones chosen associations. Billie Sutton supported these people. Every word that comes out of his mouth is tainted and not to be trusted. One cannot roll back ones associations. Even the Sutton campaign is not disputing this…They just believe by saying Billie believes differently it gives Young Sutton a pass. Once again please be logical people. America is on a roll. Jobs are coming back. We don’t need unqualified economic migrants rolling in. We need legal immigrants who want to contribute to this great nation. For the love of God see them for who they are. Wolves in, not so disguised, sheeps clothing. Remember Hillary said in the debate with Trum she favored abortion right up to birth as the mothers choice. Is there any limit to her sickness??? ‘CONSERVATIVE’ BILLIE SUTTON supported her. Do not forget. God bless South Dakota.

        1. Oh my, now let’s start with scare tactics……Hillary is history. She is not running for Governor, Sutton is, and he is for what most people are for in SD. We need reform, transparency and some competition with checks and balances. It’s ok to try something different. People are tired of the same old same old.

  27. These adds are so cheap and incredibly immature. If you make a credible statement of another person’s integrity or abilities, give a clear statement, then back your statement with truth that can be verified, then sign your name and address, and last describe what qualifies you to give your expert unsupported opinion. Nothing will surprise me any more in this campaign from Noem.

    1. You forgot to describe what qualifies you, Roxann, to give your opinion about political ads or people’s experience with a candidate? If it’s not designed using your rules, then it’s cheap and immature?

Maybe you’re more qualified to give us your expert opinion about why medical malpractice kills 500 times more Americans than accidental gun deaths?

    2. You’re logic has nothing compared to the obvious truth. Hillary Clinton, flaming disaster that she is was supported by this fake ‘conservative’ candidate. That has not been disputed. Billie Sutton is a liberal who believes he can verbally dis associate himself. This is impossible. His pay associations are still current. Kristi Noem, whatever her faults, is the only conservative in the race. WAKE UP!
