  1. Did Maggie Ross along with other witnesses that sign an affidavit perjurer themselves?

    1. I listened to the whole thing Tara:
So the Democrats recruited these two women from out of state to run in District 27, probably with some money from somebody, and now it’s the fault of the Republican-led legislature for not cleaning up the Democrats’ mess.
      Got it.

        1. Yes, well the law says intention is everything.
In the radio interview you linked to, Tara, Maggie reveals that she has known both women’s families for some time, that the families reside there. This is probably sufficient evidence that they both intended to return at some point in the future. Tribal membership is also a bit of evidence. It’s not unimaginable that no matter where a tribal member lives, the reservation will always be considered home.
This could be one of those sticking points if ever taken to court, with accusations of racism and cultural Insensitivity being thrown at anyone who doesn’t understand what it means to be Native American.

          1. Well Anne if you are correct, that’s a wonderful thing to for people to know. I just may intend to run for the Legislature from my home area of Mobridge. If it’s good for one, it’s good for all. Intentions, intentions. Starting on that slippery slope.

          2. By the way, I am a resident of SD. Does that count……..sounds like a different set of rules to me. I would love to see what a Judge has to say.

  2. Tara, if your intention was to remain a resident of Mobridge, your registering to vote in other jurisdictions and running for office there was fraudulent to those voters and candidates.

BTW, there is not a single person who is informed (including the legislators who initiated this) who thinks there is ANYTHING relevant a judge has to say. But once again, you throw out gibberish that is uninformed at the most elementary level.

  3. I can change my registration to Walworth county with the intentions of moving back before the next election.

    1. Then, your intention changed.* Do you see the distinction?

I believe but am not sure that there are rules/standards that must be met before you can register in Mobridge (i.e. move there) at which time you become a resident and will remain there until you legally establish residency somewhere else.

  4. If they don’t live in their district, well than I don’t have to either……….but I do have intentions.

  5. Tara,

I think I’m now with Dugger. You just like screwing with people because nobody can be that dumb.

To be a legal voter in a South Dakota jurisdiction, one must become a resident of the jurisdiction and register to vote in that jurisdiction.

One remains a legal voter in that jurisdiction so long as BOTH of the following is applicable:

    1) One has taken no action which LEGALLY revokes such residency AND
    2) If not currently living in that jurisdiction, intends to return.

All legal voters of a jurisdiction are eligible to run in that jurisdiction after they have been a resident of that jurisdiction for a period of time (I think it is two years but could be wrong).

    1. Troy, in the case of Pourier, it is alleged that she registered to vote in District 27 on 1-29-2018.

I don’t know who the county auditors or county states attorneys, are but I suppose they are also Democrats.

      1. Oh, ok….about 8 months before the election……nice, I’ll wait another year before I register to vote in Walworth County.

    1. Tara, are you messing with me or do you not understand what the word “and” means?

      It isn’t just intentions.

  6. Anne,

If you are right, this means:

    1) Her Democrat primary opponent dropped the ball and could have gotten her stricken before the deadline for printing of primary ballots. And,

    2) Her GOP general election opponent dropped the ball and could have gotten her strikes before the deadline for printing of general election ballots.

But, once she made the final ballot and was elected, the Legislature has the discretion to determine whether the person is fit for office and I personally believe the standard is high if the person was elected. Otherwise, the Legislature could start broadly exercising its discretion of “fitness” and remove people for wearing a MAGA hat or dissing the Speaker.
