Probably not a good thing to be arrested for Pot when you’re the State’s Attorney

From a release from the AG:

Two Arrested in Belle Fourche on Drug Charges

PIERRE, S.D.- Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Heather Plunkett, 31, Belle Fourche, and Ryan Plunkett, 33, Belle Fourche, were arrested Friday, December 4, 2015, each on one count of the following: possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, class 1 misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, class one misdemeanor and ingesting substance other than alcohol, class one misdemeanor.

Both are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.

Of course, there’s this other thing going on:

  1. She should get a pass on the pot and we’ll have that argument as the thread expands, I expect.

But should get her hinder kicked for ruining families’ lives. Of course, Jackley is all in on that one, so her real crime goes unpunished, while her victims struggle to get back to zero after her continued misuse of power.

She’s a bonehead and I am shocked that she would have pot around simply because she has zero cools.

    1. You reside in New Mexico also? Krazy Larry resides there too and ironically he is for legalizing all drugs. Same person? Heisenberg’s character in Breaking Bad manufactured and sold meth. Is this what you do and the reasoning for your comment? Profit motive?

      1. Typical conservative living in a fantasy world.

Google it, genius. If you know how to use the Google machine.

    2. “But should get her hinder kicked for ruining families’ lives.”

The people she prosecuted made their own poor choices and had an opportunity to hopefully learn from the consequences as they should. They ruined their own lives if that is what they chose.

Given her position as states attorney I hope she is dealt with accordingly under the law. Not a very good example and an incredibly stupid choice!

        1. Heisy what is wrong with reality? we could go thru all kinds of crime reports where pot was involved including recent ones. it seems commonly to be included with crack, meth, cocaine and other drugs. impair judgement? dependency issues? sure looks that way.

amazingly the pro-pot people are sure quiet when it is involved in crimes.

          1. There sure are plenty of stories about illegal drugs causing society problems and costing billions.

But those problems are overwhelmed by the societal costs of alcohol.

Face reality. The War on Drugs has been a failure since day one. It’s almost like they set out to fail.

If you raised your head out of the hole and looked around objectively, you would see a LOT of people in responsible positions who smoke marijuana on a daily basis.

Your doctor, lawyer, banker, mechanic, legislator, lobbyist, police officer – just about every profession and occupation is full of people who enjoy marijuana on a recreational basis. Ironically, I haven’t smoked pot for forty years – as I recall it made me feel mentally handicapped.

But I am still a proponent because I hear the anecdotal evidence, but just don’t see it to the grand extent that you do. I see far, far, far more damage caused by alcohol.

            1. Social costs from legalization will be far higher than the war on drugs. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns in states like Colorado.
