Quote of the day

“Thune said the Iran deal is the number one issue that concerns him for the upcoming year.

You got leaders who are chanting death to America. Normally when somebody tells you they are going to kill you, it’s probably a good idea to believe them,” he said.”

  1. Endorsement the day:
Three dozen retired generals and admirals released an open letter Tuesday supporting the Iran nuclear deal and urging Congress to do the same.
Calling the agreement “the most effective means currently available to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” the letter said that gaining international support for military action against Iran, should that ever become necessary, “would only be possible if we have first given the diplomatic path a chance.” – Karen DeYoung (WashingtonPost)

  2. Its time for Senators Rand and Cruz to return their focus to their responsibilities in Washington. There are about 7 or 8 of the candidates that just haven’t read the memo yet, that they got, that they are not catching the fire they need. To make it to that list is impressive, accepting that you aren’t near the top of the list has to be very difficult – when you’ve made the commitment and taken the steps be that close.

  3. In Addition to the released endorsement of the Iran deal by retired Generals and Admirals …..
The release followed a similar letter sent last weekend to President Barack Obama by 29 of the nation’s leading scientists, who called the Iran deal, “technically sound, stringent and innovative.”

    1. Curious about who the scientists are who signed this I actually looked for the list.
Near as I can figure, ALL of them are ivory-tower academics, most of them emeriti, which is Latin for “too senile to teach.”

Growing up, I knew a lot of physicists and scientists, and they had no use for academia. They were working for NASA and Raytheon.

      1. I’m not comfortable talking about myself very often. (I once tested in the top 2% of USA in research skills). I won’t criticize you (Anonymous 10:46 am) for not being able to find this information but I just Googled – “29 of the nation’s leading scientists, who called the Iran deal, “technically sound, stringent and innovative” – and it was right there including the letter and all the signatures with their titles. Please, allow me to share:
Supporting Data: Obama’s plans have drawn the unprecedented support of 29 of the nation’s top scientists including Richard L. Garwin, left, a physicist who helped design the world’s first hydrogen bomb and Siegfried S. Hecker, right, former director of the Los Alamos weapons laboratory in New Mexico, a facility which produced designs for most of the arms now in the nation’s nuclear arsenal.

  4. Rush Limbaugh Admits That Republicans Refuse to Work With Obama Because He Is Black – RUSH LIMBAUGH: “I also think, folks, that there will be dramatic changes once we… Let me just put it this way. The fact that we are living in the historic era with the first African-American president has everybody paralyzed and everybody scared.”
Rush Limbaugh was admitting that he thinks Republicans will be more willing to work with Hillary Clinton because she is white. Limbaugh’s discussion about the fear of the black president revealed the real reason that the right despises Barack Obama so deeply. One of Limbaugh’s favorite tactic is to assign blame to Democrats and the left for things that the “right and Republicans” are actually doing.

  5. Porter, we’d all be better off if you were wholly uncomfortable talking about yourself.

    1. Agreed. It’s better for all if I just continue fighting bullies when and where I confront them …. but thanks for the advice. ☮ ✌

  6. This should not be the #1 concern for Thune this coming year. While it should be top 5, government spending, tax reform, ag bill, highway funding are bigger issues affecting more people in South Dakota. Is Thune starting to lose touch with South Dakota? Daschle anyone?

  7. ““You got leaders who are chanting death to America. Normally when somebody tells you they are going to kill you, it’s probably a good idea to believe them,” – What a childishly idiotic statement to deflect from facts. Does the guy think that is rational or is just pandering to the “childishly idiotic”?—I say both.

We have leaders in this country singing bomb, bomb bomb Iran..Nikita Khrushchev said “we will bury you”…If the leaders then were the buffoons of today…BOOM!!!!
