Republican in Sutton Ad Not So Republican After All
Sutton’s “Republican” Validator is a Long-Time Democratic Donor and Party Insider

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In a blatant attempt to mislead South Dakotans, Democrat Billie Sutton’s latest ad portrays a long-time Democratic donor and Democratic Party insider as a Republican. More specifically, Peggy Glover is the wife of former Democratic State Senator Tom Glover and has repeatedly donated to Senator Sutton’s campaign over the last eight years (2010, 2016).

“South Dakotans are getting a little tired of Democrat Billie Sutton’s hypocrisy and half-truths,” said Justin Brasell, Kristi for Governor campaign manager. “He says he’s pro-life, then holds fundraisers with Planned Parenthood’s leadership. He tells some people he won’t raise taxes, then advocates on behalf of a $128 million tax hike, supports a state income tax, and says he won’t veto new taxes if elected. He brands himself as a moderate, yet campaigns for Hillary Clinton. Now, he’s putting forward a fraudulent ad. If Billie Sutton will go to these lengths to deceive South Dakotans as a candidate, how can people trust him to take on corruption as governor?”

  1. This is not surprising. Is everyone just now noticing this about him? He rides the fence. If hes talking to a Republican he will tell them what they want to hear.. if hes talking to a Democrat, he will tell them what they want to hear.

  2. Wow! Peggy is a registered Republican – independent of her husband. Or are there still Republicans who believe that wives are the property of their husbands. I’ve heard enough. I’m voting for Sutton.

    1. Bringing out the tired “War on Women” tripe? Sounds like desperation to me.

Sutton supports higher taxes, ObummerCare, and Hillary Clinton, so he is a lefty, no question. He can ride all the horses he wants and wear his cowboy hat to bed, but he is a hardcore left-winger. We don’t need his garbage in South Dakota.

      1. Again, not true! Sutton has voted over 3 dozen times to reduce taxes while serving in the State Senate. You don’t have to believe me – look it up.

          1. Along with a majority of Republicans. Does it anger you he works across the aisle to support Republican ideas?

          2. That was the past by a super majority Republican controled state house and a Republican governor. What is your point here? Many many Republicans did as well.

  3. I don’t know how to break this to you, but many Republicans, Independents and Democrats have donated to Senator Billie Sutton over the years. That is his strength. He represents everyone.

  4. What polls? The democratic telephone poll that polled only 500 people? With margin of error at 4%? That poll? Woopty do. Do straw polls count? Showing Kristi leading Sutton almost 2:1? And how is it lies about Billie? Do you know him? Do you know the people in his ads?

  5. Let’s talk poll numbers. How many people do you think said they’d vote for Sutton, but will be voting for Noem? When Dems think they’re going to win before the race is actually over, many stay home. We see that with younger leftists, they think going to vote is too time consuming and that the older voters will handle it.

    #Resist.

  6. Looking forward to the Governor Sutton administration with Attorney General Randy Seiler. Pierre is overdue for change and transparency. Work on real issues that unite us than the old divide and go after certain groups.

    1. Looking forward to Governor Noem and Attorney General Jason Ravensburg!! What a wonderful place this will be! Common sense, no over-inflated egos, and Conservatism. Cant wait!!

    2. overdue for change, work on real issues,
old divide, go after certain groups..

      How flaky can you get?
Kathy Tyler suggests stupid people should do research.
That’s good advice, you should take her up on it.

      1. I did research. Republicans pushed through the last 3 tax increases. A republican stopped constitutional carry. Republicans allowed numerous people to die and millions of tax dollars to go missing. Republicans promised where tax dollars would go and then used it elsewhere. Is there anything else I should research?

        1. Kristi (The Establishment) Noem would be too expensive to have as Governor. With one scandal after another it’s time to clean out the cronyism and put a new Governor Sutton in charge.

        2. Millions to die? I don’t remember the Republicans who voted to expand abortion? Can you puhleeze tell me where that happened?

        3. Whoa… 3 tax increases! We can’t have that. Reps know tax dollars are needed, I encouraged my reps to vote for them.

May have stopped cc, but I still get to legally carry. CC carry is just a bonus.

Republicans allowed numerous people to die… lie.
Millions of tax dollars to go missing… lie. You’re a liar, keep it up, it will help you win votes for Sutton. He’s happy you’re here.

Again, you’re flaky and clearly a liar. Sutton is going to loose, there’s twice as many Reps as Dems. And, you can’t count on young leftists, they’re unreliable and you know it.

Who knows what the next 3wks will bring. Could we see what happened to Kavanaugh happen here in SD? Do you wonder what Sutton’s yearbooks have to offer us? #Metoo?

    3. Seiler isn’t going to win; he is an old, leftwing goofball who supports California/New York values. Have him move to Venezuela where life is more to his liking.

Also, remember, the Democrat party is THE party of identity politics and division, thanks to Barack Insane Obummer.

      1. South Dakotans are getting tired of bathroom bills, The Muslims are coming hysteria and all that while nothing is getting done for healthcare, teacher pay, rural school districts struggling, infrastructure crumbling, drug epidemic and everything else.

        1. Anonymous at 4:31 the government has already done enough damage to healthcare. The more government does the worse it gets. If you are worried about the drug epidemic I hope you aren’t in favor of expanding Medicaid, we don’t need to throw gasoline on THAT fire! Medicaid expansion and opioid addiction go together like fire and smoke.

Likewise the teacher pay and struggling rural schools: the teachers got the sales tax increase with the change in funding formula exactly how they wanted it and haven’t stopped complaining. The more the legislature does for education, the more they complain.
It was the school boards that wanted a bathroom bill, to provide them with legal cover. The best thing the legislature could possibly do for education is tell the school boards to clean up their own mess.

The one thing they should be doing is getting the roads and bridges fixed.

          1. Nice. Worth the read. I’d like to add.

The drugs that are killing people aren’t being cooked up in the abandoned farm house, it’s being brought here. We all know were the starting point is, well that’s if you pay attention. Sounds like they might be in favor of strengthening our border security.

Wasn’t there a tax added to help fund our roads? I can’t pin-point it, within the last 3yrs?

    1. Trump went out of his way to help Kristi, but many of us still view her as establishment.

  7. Wait. So is she a Republican or not? If she is a registered Republican then she is not being “portrayed” as a Republican, but is in fact a Republican. If that’s the case then its Noem’s release that seems more misleading than the ad. Does anyone know?

  8. “Work on real issues that unite us than the old divide and go after certain groups.”

Are you talking about the newest ad put out by Democrat activists – “They’re doing fine, are you?”
Looks to me like Democrats continue with their identity politics division. Now they’re turning young against old. Marxist much?

  9. People, people. Sutton supported Hillary, and that is all you need to know. If you are conservative, you will vote against Sutton; if you are liberal, you will vote for him. It’s not that difficult.

    1. And many Republicans supported Trump in this state. 2016 put up two of the worst candidates possible and your blaming the Dem. for supporting the Dem nominee?

  10. Breath Pat, it will be okay. Worst case scenario for you, we have a conservative Democrat as.governor with a super majority Republican Senate and House. It will be okay. Billy will do a great job.

    1. Have the Jackley voters coalesced behind Noem? I think seeing some Jackley support out there on the trail would wrap this up.

        1. If Republicans are helping Sutton, they may possibly be trying to elect a man who chose a woman who has never, ever been a part of the political world. Do you think an untrained person could just walk into a classroom and say that he/she was going to teach calculus? Same difference. Codified laws and procedures take a long time to learn properly. Also, the new Governor may have to make some key appointments during the time in office. Who would be better in doing this? How about Supreme Court Justices? Finally, Stan Adelstein is drumming up support for Sutton by trying to get current and past legislators to sign their names to champion this cause. I would say that could be a final nail in the coffin.

  11. Billie is from my hometown. He has an ‘I’ problem. All about him all the time. His wife is a liberal hack who is set up for life from her families bank. She is a very unpopular county commissioner who works against ag issues and worries about liberal causes. They would be a disaster in the governor’s office.

    1. Agree with you Terry! Im from that area as well. Known both of them since they were in grade school. Would never vote for either. Actually.. had Billie never married such a liberal feminist I may have considered it once. But he has adopted her way of thinking. In all honesty.. Im not sure its really him running for governor as it is her wanting to get in there. And believe me, whatever she would want as a governors wife would happen. So those thinking Billie would run the show… your greatly mistaken. And you dont want her in there at all. Shes not a real nice person IMO.

  12. Are these the same polls that said Hillary was going to win over President Trump??

    Just asking.

  13. I thought it was precious how she talked about the “Corruption in Pierre”.
    Q. Where has Billie been all these years?
    A. Pierre
    Billie’s part of the problem.
    NOEM/RHODEN 2018!

  14. What nobody is wanting to talk about is the super poor job Noem is doing. She has zero momentum after beating Jackley. Hasn’t poked her head west of the river. Didn’t show at Dakotafest. As a Republican I’m very disappointed in her effort. She should be a 20 point favorite by now. Quit running stupid ads trying to look like she is a bigger cowgirl than Billie is a cowboy. It’s embarrassing.
