  1. I never met him but I consistently heard two things about him:

A good thinker and a good friend.

May Bob’s soul Rest in Peace.

  2. Bob was one of the finest examples of how a Legislative leader earns respect from fellow Legislators. He was always pleasant and willing to listen to both sides of issues . He didn’t participate or appreciate underhanded political activity and made sure there was equal time for opposing candidates on his radio station. It was a pleasure to work with him on issues concerning his beloved Watertown. Bob will be missed!!

  3. Bob was a very dear friend. I met him nearly on Day 1 when I moved to Watertown in ’83 and last visited him at his home some two weeks ago. Bob was a brillant star whose light has left the world much too quickly.

  4. A broadcasting legend in Watertown. He started KSDR, and then sold it to Three Eagles Communications in 2000. Fortunately, he didn’t stay out of the market long, and started KXLG after his no-compete clause was up. Lured away one of the top newscasters in South Dakota in David J. Law to come work for him.

Of course, working for Three Eagles was a pretty good motivation for a change in scenery! LOL
