South Dakota Gun Owners on attack against Daugaard

From Facebook:

South Dakota Gun Owners are on a pre-emptive attack against Governor Daugaard for constitutional carry legislation that has yet to be introduced, much less be facing a Gubernatorial veto just yet, as noted by Jordan Mason on facebook, who was handing out orange SD Gun Owner postcards at Daugaard speaking events yesterday.

  1. Which group is this? Is this that nutty group out of Rapid that sent mailers out during this past SDGOP primary that lied about candidate stances on gun ownership? Charlie Hoffman was one of the candidates targeted if I remember correctly which made no sense to me. Is this a different group?

  2. UNFORTUNATELY THESE IDIOTS HAVE INTIMADATED SOME LEGISLATOTS INTO SPONSORING THIS USELESS BILL .HEY YOU GUYS TELL THEM TO SHOVE IT ! THEY TRIED TO LIE ME OUT OF OFFICE 3 TIMES . FIGHT THEM BY JUST TELLING THE TRUTH . THEY ARE LIKE VAMPIRES , SUNLIGHT WILL DESTRY THEM .

    1. Hey Mike good to know! What is up with this group? They lie about legislators who staunchly defend the 2nd amendment, love to hunt, enjoy the sport and believe citizens have the right to defend themselves.

      1. “They lie about legislators who staunchly defend the 2nd amendment”

That sounds terrible, can you provide an example?

  3. This is a particularly rabid organization. They will distort any position, tell out right lies when they deem it necessary to achieve their ends. They should be ashamed of themselves, unfortunately they aren’t.

  4. Don’t smear the legislation just because this group is supporting it….it is still a good bill with growing support nationally.

The Constitution says our gun rights shall not be enfringed….

  5. My experience with their bills are not to protect 2nd amendment rights but to eliminate any and all restrictions currently in place. Students open carrying in the classroom, legislators with pistols on the hip sort of thing. It’s a race to see who can claim the pinnacle of absolute freedom with guns or create a lucrative revenue stream scarring good citizens into donating to defeat gun grabbing legislators. It puts good legislators in difficult positions and thankfully the NRA has assisted in giving them cover. Unfortunately in this day and age with story after story of shootings, it puts people on edge and when they see some of this nutty legislation, it puts good common sense legislators in a bad position. Very scary for some legislators who had voted against their bills with valid concerns only to receive very threatening phone calls at home from mislead members.

Would you equate those legislators with “legislators who staunchly defend the 2nd amendment”?

      1. Well Steve answer me one question and I’ll know where the difference is between you and the SDGO. Do you believe there should be any restrictions on who what where when, when it comes to guns? Because I can guarantee you will either look like a lunatic or a gun grabber. That is the kind of debate that is had with SDGO.

  6. Steve, we are all tired of your rhetorical game playing. You remind me of a kid who was kicked out of high school debate and is still pissed off about it 40 years later. Time to grow up.

  7. Why would you kick a kid out of an intellectually stimulating activity like high school debate?

  8. It’s akin to being a free speech advocate vs believing you should be able to yell fire in a movie theater.
