They get the angriest golfers at the Sioux Falls City Council Meeting

From last nights’ Sioux Falls City Council Meeting, one of Theresa Stehly’s prime campaign allies and supporters was all triggered and yelling, and got booted from the City Council meeting yesterday evening.

(If it’s that big a deal, just bring cheeseburgers back to the golf course.)

  1. Why does Ehrisman not run for office rather than just complain all the time?

      1. Would Scott lose that bad? Is he one of those free thinkers? They might vote for him along with other Bernie Bros.

    1. Nice hat, Scott. Oh, but it looks good on you. Did you get a bowl of soup with that hat?

      1. Actually, that’s a fine hat, for the golf course. A gentleman, and especially one appearing before an elected body, would remove the hat.

        Just saying.

  2. He’s a punk, but the Mayor has done a terrible job during this crisis.

    1. In what way has he done a terrible job? Why would I just take your statement without any examples given to support it? If you have a point to make, make it with facts rather than a short statement, because how many people know who you are and would simply take your word for anything?

      I’m just asking.

      1. He panicked when the virus showed up. Then Emperor Tenhaken tried to take power to shut everything down. Rather than put the stay at home order to vote, he pulled it because he knew he would lose big time. I have yet to hear how he is adjusting the city budget to deal with the major reduction in tax revenues. About that stay at home deal. He passed the buck to Governor Noem. When she would not do it, he passed the buck to the commission. Now he goes on and on about being upset about citizens not wearing a useless mask that has no science behind it. Emperor Tenhaken has had a taste of taking power and enjoys it too much. How’s that for starters?

        1. Another example… When PTH “quarantine shamed” a SF restaurant by tweeting out pictures of their parking. I’m not sure he realizes how much that choice negatively impacted his support from local business owners.

      2. He has constantly backtracked on decisions around Covid. He got his a** owned by the governor this entire time. He wanted her to make all of the decisions so he didn’t have to take political heat. Everyone knows he aspires for hire officer, he’s been sucking up to liberals, crying on facebook posts, when he runs for another office it won’t be as the conservative. He has spent taxpayer dollars on a diversity officer. Did a terrible job with the school for the deaf and discussing this transaction. He might have a good heart, but he isn’t the leader he thinks he is, people are starting to see that. He’s had the most drama around all of his covid related decisions, other mayors haven’t required all of the drama to get the job done. That isn’t a Sioux Falls thing, it’s a Paulie thing.

      3. I like the way the most recent council meeting (5/19) approved a first reading on the removal of COVID-19 restrictions for citizens, but also approved more ambulatory capability for the city due to COVID-19. So, which world do we live in?

  3. “Daddy, what’s a troll?”
“Look it up in the dictionary honey”
“Why does the dictionary have a picture of a guy in a dumb hat?”

  4. I never heard of him, but the snippet you had makes him sound like kind of a dink. (And the outfit doesn’t help either)

    1. Why did you have to say that? Now that’s the only image I have, and I can’t stop laughing.

  5. If you watch the whole clip here is my assessment of Mr Ehrisman actions

    – He was correct that the City employees should get back to work since everyone else is and the pools should be open. I would go one better and say maybe we don’t need all these employees. The mayor said he was incorrect but, I am not sure about that.
    – He was correct that the Union is probably protecting these employees YET this is why Unions have shrank because they have done nothing but suck money from its members to line others pockets.
    – He was wrong in acting a fool and continuing on with his 1st Amendment rant when the rules are that you get 3 minutes and you basically can’t act like an @sshole and go on.
    – This guy runs his mouth on every item and has no issue with complaining on his blog and showing up at meetings to put his 2 cents in but, when its all said and done he strikes me as a professional pot stirrer. I am not aware of anything he is “doing” besides blogging and speaking. After awhile it falls on deaf ears and his approach is as bad as the No Action Politicians he rails against. Never understand why he doesnt run for office
    – Sad thing is if he had a better approach to how he conducts himself he would do some real good

    1. Has Mr. Chronic Complainer traveled to Pierre to complain in committees or just complains on his blog?

      1. I believe he keeps is comments to his Blog, City Council meetings, and occasionally Facebook. His blog is a good read at times I must admit because he brings some good topics to light. He can be a bit over the top on items and like many Liberals tends to focus way to much on things that don’t matter like the Mayors lack of Tie and wearing Sneakers. The blog and its many rabid Liberal Commentators have pet names for every Conservative/Republican in the state and Federal Level but, thats to be expected. I enjoy the other side of the fence from time to time to get opposing views etc.

  6. But aren’t city employees essential workers? If government workers aren’t essential, then how did everyone get their $1200 check?

    1. Most of them are not needed. Govt is bloated that is the point many are making. As far as the $1200 check, it was a bad idea, just like when Obama did it. All we are doing is paying ourselves with money we don’t have. This is why Govt needs to shrink they mess up and cost more than they are worth. I bet we could do with half the city employees we have now, especially in the Admin area.

      1. Yup, yup, yup. My wife and I each received $1200. She is working from home. I am semi-retired receiving a pension and Social Security and have a part-time job. I do not believe that was meant for someone like us. So we are sitting around trying to figure out what to do with the money. We sure don’t want to spend it so we are trying to decide what kind of charity would be a good choice. If the government had not given money to people like us who have not been seriously hurt by the virus malarkey, it would not have cost nearly so much. But then on the other hand, votes can be expensive.

  7. Mr. Ehrisman was 100% spot on. I didn’t think he was out of line except going over the time limit. Was he politically incorrect? Well I think people are starting to come around and not be so concerned about tone and political correctness but rather focus on the message. Scott is an activist for ethical government. He must be doing something right or he won’t have thousands of people reading his blog Southdacola. If you want to hear his comments start at 2:50. Thanks

    1. Your missing one big thing about Scott that is important to highlight. Every single solution he advocates requires govt to get bigger and his views have become very Progressive. An example: He wants the city to adopt a garbage service to kick all the small business owners in the nuts and put them out of business. He likes to soft peddle it but, in the end thats what happens when govt enters a market already dominated by private business. Scott is adept at pointing out problems and does a good job and I tend to agree with the “issues” he brings to light but, his solutions almost always require govt to get bigger then like clockwork he will be there “bitching” about it. I have no doubt if Scott had his way and govt took over stuff like garbage he would be up at that podium every week or on his blog complaining about corruption, waste, fraud and abuse, etc. The Progressive solution is always a self fulfilling prophecy. Get govt to take over then rail about how it’s misused, mismanaged, rampant fraud, and my favorite “well it hasn’t been done right”. It can’t be done right because those who believe in govt they view it as their “religion or God”.

This is my observation of many Americans regardless of your politics. Very few trust the govt, loathe politics, and hate the political correctness, yet half of the country want the govt to do more. I find this baffling as here we are always fighting over so many issues and most of them really should be left up to the individuals. Strange I tell ya

      1. Well Scott definitely does not trust government, which is a good thing. Nothing wrong with calling them out. From reading his blog site he appears to be against wasteful spending. Correct me if I am wrong but I believed he was in opposition of the bunker ramp and the new city administration building. He is also supporting fiscal conservative Theresa Stehly for re-election to the Sioux Falls city council.

        1. Like I said, he often does a good job of identifying what is wrong with his elected leaders and their decisions. Like any Good Progressive his solve is more Govt. Its a self fulling prophecy and the best example is him wanting the City to take over Waste Management in Sioux Falls. His reasonings are that it would save the citizens money, less abuse on the streets by having few garbage trucks etc. In theory this sounds great but, in practice we know what will happen. His idea puts upwards of 30+ Small businesses out to pasture, so much for the little guy. The govt, will mess this up as it usually does by making it wasteful, inefficient, and I am sure some sort of corruption will come into play. Guess who will be there complaining front and center, Scott Ehrishman!!! He will tell them how they are doing it wrong, its corrupt, some guy is getting a cushy contract, etc. Its a viscous cycle and this is what I find poposterious about their positions. Its always “its not being done right” and it never will be because we are Human and far too many these days see Govt as a way to get power and enrich themselves. I say we do away with most of it then Scott and the rest of us will have less to bitch about

    2. Personally, I used to read his column, but after a few months found him to be a chronic complainer and quit.
