They’re starting to drop like flies…. Rand Paul now drops out.

With Huckabee out, and Ben Carson maybe, sort of out (or not), the dominos are continuing to fall today as Rand Paul suspends his campaign.

“Although, today I will suspend my campaign for President, the fight is far from over. I will continue to carry the torch for Liberty in the United States Senate and I look forward to earning the privilege to represent the people of Kentucky for another term.”

Paul, who was often at odds with other Republican candidates on issues like national security and surveillance, struggled to attract the loyal and enthusiastic following that buoyed his father Ron Paul’s past presidential bids.

  1. After NH, at the most, the following will still be candidates:

Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Bush for sure

    Kasich & Christie maybe.

    Rest gone.

    1. Bush’s slogan should be “hope springs eternal.” Is he hoping that the three top candidates will all implode? Or is it that he just cannot admit defeat when it is staring him in the face. He may be a competent candidate, but his support for Common Core and illegal immigration/amnesty has hurt him irreparably.

  2. I agree. There has to be at least one governor that stays in this race for a while longer. The governor that gets the highest in the polls in NH and SC will be the one that should stay in this race.

Basically we have two Senators running that haven’t ever run anything and we have a business man who’s never been elected. There is room for at least one governor in this race.

    1. I don’t know that I agree that we need a governor in the race. If running a state is the only qualification someone brings, that isn’t enough. I am more concerned about ideas, morals, worldview, and integrity. Christie is a liberal and Kasich is a RINO, so I’d rather have Cruz or Rubio. I don’t think that running a state should be the be-all-end-all for deciding who is qualified.

  3. Santorum just bowed out and said he will be campaigning for Rubio. He said Rubio is everything he always wanted to be.
    Game changer here moving forward.

Now if Jeb could just see the star dust………

  4. Springer,

All I know is that someone who defends Trump and condemns Bush has priorities above Pro-Life. And Listing Common Core is pretty shallow. And using the Cruz lie referring to his position as amnesty is an offense against the truth which is grave matter.

  5. Rubio is moving up in the NH tracking. Cruz is steady and everyone else appears to be falling a bit. If Rubio gets a solid second or a first place finish, then it may be an unexpectedly short race after all. God will have saved us from ourselves.
