Thune: It’s Our Job to Protect the Rights of the Unborn

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) today discussed the Democrats’ refusal to recognize the rights of the unborn. Senate Republicans will continue to stand up for what’s right and fight on behalf of unborn children. Thune also recognized the tens of thousands of pro-life Americans, including those from South Dakota, who marched in January to advocate for the hundreds of thousands of babies that are killed by abortion each year in this country.
One state allows teen girls to get an IUD during their normal yearly checkup. It’s up to the girl if she chooses to tell her parents. Teen abortions in that state dropped by over 90% in two years. It’s over zealous lawmaking that causes abortions.
Laws don’t make people commit murder. People making poor choices and not using birth control then compounding a mistake by killing a child instead of owning up to it are the reasons abortion happen. This is called personal responsibility, folks should try it. There are 3 100% effective ways to deal with unwanted pregnancy.
– Don’t have sex, duhhhhhhh
– Birth Control or Condoms (these are free or can be purchased easily)
– Adoption

Abortion is the biggest civil rights issue we face now. Future generations will wonder how we could ever have allowed unborn children to be treated like excess cargo on a slave ship. 18th century slave traders probably maintained that throwing extra slaves overboard was a matter of “my boat, my choice,” and anyway, their insurance policies covered their losses so there was nothing wrong with the practice. They still realized large profits.
Thyme talks a good game…never seems to accomplish anything on this issue.
