Thune still on V.P. Short List

In a story filed today, South Dakota’s US Senator John Thune is apparently still on the short list being considered for Donald Trump’s running mate:

thuneheader2Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is “in play” as a possible contender to be named Donald Trump’s running mate at next month’s GOP convention, sources familiar with the vice presidential search tell NBC News.

and…

In addition to his governing experience in Indiana, Pence served for 12 years in the House, filling Trump’s reported requirement of being able to navigate Capitol Hill.

Other possible picks for the job include Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. John Thune, Sen. Bob Corker and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, among others.

  1. Mr. PP, I can’t leave a message on the blogging about your advertising for some reason but I had to ask if the file size and interfering with the loading of the blog is what you think might be making Mr. H’s blog so slow. Yours loads into my screen very fast but Mr. H’s really struggles and crawls. Could he be putting too big of pictures or something? I only ask because you seem a web master.

    1. Positive nationwide attention is good. We’ve gotten plenty of super negative and embarrassing attention in the past few years. Thune would make a good VP…or member of the cabinet. Trump will need a strong cabinet almost more than he needs a strong, politically savvy VP.

    1. Thune could actually probably be VP for Trump, as he has been silent in the face of McConnell’s destruction of the republican party’s credibility in the US Senate with the American people.

  2. I don’t know that someone as relatively unknown nationwide would be a boost for Trump, and with Trump’s polls right now, I think he needs all the help he can get-and this with Hillary as the Dem nominee!

    1. clinton’s toxic, bernie’s toxic, fauxcahontas liawatha is toxic. depends on your viewpoint.
