According to the South Dakota Secretary of State, time is almost up for the single petition out being circulated to refer a measure passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor to the people for a vote.
The referral of House Bill 1094 – An act to revise certain programs regarding transparency of the petition circulation process – is being sponsored by State Senator Al Novstrup’s punching bag and extreme liberal Cory Heidelberger.
As per the SOS, Petitions are due no later than JUNE 27, 2019 BY 5:00 PM (CT), 90 days of adjournment after sine die of the 2019 legislative session. 16,961 valid signatures for referral will need to be presented to the Secretary of State just two short days away.
We’ll see what happens on Thursday.
