Video of Man pulling out guns in response to Sioux Falls Christian conference on facebook live *NSFW*

Predictably, the Argus is soft-selling this story

Man who carried weapon at anti-Islam event won’t face charges

A man who was asked to leave an anti-Islam speaking event last week after he held up the Quran and was believed to have weapons on his person will not face charges in connection with the incident, a Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman said Monday.

Read it here.

….but it seems to come off as far more serious when you actually view the video that’s flying around the Internet from PamelaGellar.com

Maybe the Argus’ headline should be “Agitated Muslim man who carried 8 weapons to Christian event won’t face charges.”

I don’t think it really matters what religion one is. Because if this gentleman wanted to reassure people that they shouldn’t be scared of his… he managed to do exactly the opposite.

    1. La
dy, did you read the Argus Leader ling or are you ignoring reality?

“Clemens said police and FBI agents met with the man at the event and later on in the evening to verify that he posed no harm to event attendees. Concealed carrying a firearm is legal with a permit in South Dakota, though private business owners can restrict possession in their establishments.

“Everything he was doing was legal. He didn’t break any laws so we didn’t charge him,” Clemens said. “It would have been a different story if he had threatened anybody.”

      1. So, he is only dangerous if you are stupid (read his shirt). What an idiot! Be sure to be on the lookout for this guy as he doesn’t seem to have a good grasp on his emotions.
If this guy is angry about the number of people attending this event it shows that HIS tolerance only goes so far.

  1. Thanks for posting this Pat. Can’t believe Hubble isn’t commenting. I think she went to the meeting……she is acting like a snowflake. Come on Hubbel…I thought you were tough?????

    1. ““Everything he was doing was legal. He didn’t break any laws so we didn’t charge him,” Clemens said. “It would have been a different story if he had threatened anybody.”—

        1. I agree, just as some “rational gun owners” that walk the streets or go into business carrying their AKs or other wennie enlargements—-The NRA puppets got their laws and as on other issues they never consider that those laws apply to every American…..and some of them “all’ will not be responsible about anything—

          1. What’s a “wennie”?

Why do you put the term “rational gun owners” in quotations? Are you trying to say there is no such things?

  2. My husband and I were there. Im willing to bet that even with all the man’s weapons that he was sorely out gunned with over 500 God-fearing laity there. After listening to Steve Haugaard on the radio today, it sounds like Sioux Falls will be sued by the speakers whose conference was “breached” by an obviously militant Muslim f-bomb throwing lunatic. Many Steel and I tried to tell Mayor Huether that this type of Muslim (and not ALL Muslims are like this) were coming into Sioux Falls. He refused to listen to us. He even sent his legal henchmen after me with a “cease and desist” threat when I tried to warn him on FB what was coming into Sioux Falls.

    1. They are coming to Sioux Falls with great intentions. I saw a valid video from a meeting in Brookings with their plan to infiltrate SF. The plan is to convert one by one, move into different neighborhoods, etc. What was Huether’s response?

      1. Mormons? Jehovah Witnesses? They have all come to my front door and were very pleasant.

  3. This Muslim man seems totally unhinged and is spouting threats. The cops should have taken this seriously instead of fearing the PC police.

  4. He didn’t seem to be breaking any gun laws as a SD resident, so I get why he wasn’t arrested for that. However, watching the video and reading the article on Pamela Geller’s website, he is quite threatening. If I had attended the conference and knew this guy was in the parking lot saying to be afraid, to be terrified I would have felt threatened and quickly left. Thank God for the person who approached him. With children at the event, I cannot even image what could have happened. Hopefully the SFPD is keeping a close eye on this situation.

  5. “Pamela Geller’s website,”– Are you familiar with Geller? It is no different than reading a klan site thinking you are going to get a straight story about a black person…

    1. The video he made and posted is what is threatening, did you watch it? Mentioned PG’s site because it described an off duty officer approaching this guy. Taking anything too seriously (Argus Leader included) is difficult, lots of source searching to do. It will be interesting to see what other local, news outlets report.

  6. Where are all the Sioux Falls tv stations? Why are they hiding this video? Because of politically correct speech codes. They are scared and weak and hiding the truth.

  7. The gutless fake news purveyors at tv news will never report on this video

    Total cover up

  8. How does a guy that works in the restaurant/service industry (Morries) afford that kind of weaponry?

  9. Ok, that counts as scary dude. Read comments first, wondered if people were overreacting. Watched video, wondered why he’s not in nut house or chains.

Real, normal gun owners don’t act like that. We don’t need the attention. That character needs Counselling.

    1. I don’t care if it’s an angry Lutheran outside a Catholic fish fry. Acting like that in defense of your religion is not a thing to do in a polite society.

  10. Why the news blackout from the television hacks?? Are they covering the installation of a new light pole or something really really important or something?

  11. Am I the only one that thinks the Argus started all of this by putting up the headline “Anti-Muslim Event” in their paper when announcing the event?

If that wasn’t biased and inciting I don’t know what is.

    1. Who reads the Argus Liar? They are a bunch of hacks, and they are definitely trying to gin up anger by calling this an anti-Muslim event. What a bunch of idiots at that rag!

Pat, why don’t you get some investors together and start a more conservative (honest) newspaper in Sioux Falls? I am tired of the left-wingers at the Argus pretending to be reporters. They are a bunch of CNN/Salon wannabes trying to toe the loony-left line.

  12. Let’s not forget, this appeasement started in the legislature this year with “Republicans” tabling bills that commended Republican President Donald Trump for being proactive in defending a Americans against “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Democratic Mike Huether snapped his fingers and our “Republican” Senators tabled Senator Neal Tapio’s bill.

Now a Muslim man brandished weapons at a Christian event while live broadcasting on Facebook at the event telling them to be afraid and our Democrat Mayor & States Attorney say no problem?!

    1. If Tapio would have spent his time talking to his colleagues instead of the media he would have passed it but he was all about generating publicity for himself.

His colleagues new it wasn’t a substantive argument and they got tired of the grandstanding.

      1. Tapio is just trying to bring the radical Muslin agenda to the attention of the populace. They are not wishing to coexist with Christians and Jews, the radicals in the Muslim faith want to convert the infidels or eliminate them. Notice I said radicals, not all Muslims.

  13. If you read the whole story it says a “former Muslim turned Christian” was speaking at the event. This is what infuriates the Radical Islamic base more than anything else.
The police chief serves at the pleasure of the mayor.
    Nothing more needs much thought.

  14. This guy appears to totally within the law, exercising both his freedom of speech and his second amendment rights, which apply to everybody. That’s how it works. The old Blank Panther movement leaders were among the strongest advocates of their right to bear arms and they exercised it openly. Not sure why anybody is complaining. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

    1. South Dakota statute 22-8-13. Terrorist threat–Felony. Any person who threatens to commit a crime of violence, as defined by subdivision 22-1-2(9), (includes use of a gun) or an act dangerous to human life involving any use of chemical, biological, or radioactive material, or any explosive or destructive device, with the intent to: (1) Intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (2) Influence the policy or conduct of any government or nation; (3) Affect the conduct of any government or nation; or (4) Substantially impair or interrupt public communications, public transportation, common carriers, public utilities, or other public services; is guilty of making a terrorist threat. A violation of this section is a Class 5 felony. Source: SL 2005, ch 120, § 189.

      1. When applied to the video that people are saying is proof of terrorism, it does not meet the definition as stated in SDCL 22-8-13. Remember, what the actual law says and what you think it should say are two different things. Two parts are required to be proven: 1) threaten to commit an act of violence and 2) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population (as the only one that really applies in this case).
        1. No credible threat of violence was made. His statement “be afraid…be terrified” is not a threat in these circumstances, or at least not one that would be easy to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. “I’ll kill them all…” or “Ill shoot the next person who calls me a terrorist” or even POINTING THE GUN at someone and saying “be afraid…be terrified” are threats, but not what this guy did.
        2. The people inside where not aware of what was occurring, so it could not be intended to coerce them. I will grant you that this one might be easier to prove, as it could be a general action against all South Dakotans, but still, it would be a legal stretch.
Remember South Dakotans, you don’t want to go off half cocked about this guys actions.

Remember that time you made a facebook post holding your AK and saying “anyone tries to take my guns can pry them from my cold dead hands?” Not that different. If he is a legal gun owner with a concealed carry permit he isn’t breaking any laws by showing them off. They are not pointed at anyone, and it does not appear that they are loaded. He is not in the center of the room with all the people at the convention making his statements, he is elsewhere, posting to the internet.

To take away his legal rights is to take away your own. Remember, Timothy McVeigh was a pro-gun rights racist who killed 168 people and injured hundreds more. He was a bronze star recipient and military veteran. If we can’t trust him with guns, then we can’t trust anyone with them, right?

Finally, remember that the federal government has preemption on acts of terror. The FBI is not arresting him, and the federal statute mirrors ours. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2331
This is not a case of local prosecutors not doing their job. McGowan and Wollman are law-and-order prosecutors who make the hard calls all the time. They go after those who have done wrong and treat them accordingly. McGowan tried a murder case against a def lesbian black woman and sent her to prison for life. He is not afraid of the PC Police.
Yes, it is scary that someone you disagree with has a bunch of guns. He made the exact opposite statement than the one it sounds like he intended to make. I agree that his actions, his words, and his general outlook on life are all stupid. But we can’t put everyone in jail for being stupid.

        1. Excellent reply! But we need someone or a group to be our scapegoats and be afraid of. Those darn and devious Transgenders?

    2. Pay attention to how this guy is exercising his second and first amendment rights. He is trying to be provocative because he is not tolerant of a different viewpoint-Christianity. His idiotic shirt is like the morons who walk around the Empire Mall with the F-word on their shirt-trying to be provocative and not caring about having any consideration for others.

    3. He does appear to be within the law concerning SD gun laws. However, pretty sure what he was saying fits the law Steve Sibson has posted. If I was attending the conference and knew he was out in the parking lot with 7 guns, I would quickly leave. Wondering why there is no coverage on other local news outlets. It is disappointing people who can do something to stop a potential horrendous act occurring are being silent. Maybe your right and we have absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

  15. He looks really familiar to me. He’s waited tables in Sioux Falls I believe and not that long ago at Spezias I think. Does anyone have a name or can’t we say it?
His behavior and his actions bringing that many guns to an event with ammo is concerning to say the least. It’s not like he’s going to the range or to the country. He piled a lot of guns and ammo and went to a destination. The media black out is the worst part of his. Maybe he as wanting to get arrested so he could sue? I know I’ve met him or seen him around Sioux Falls.

    1. Excellent reply! But we need someone or a group to be our scapegoats and be afraid of. Those darn and devious Transgenders?
