Welcome Roger Solum to our roll of advertisers.

roger 160 x325State Senate Candidate Roger Solum was nice enough to drop an ad at SDWC to encourage people to visit his new website for his State Senate primary campaign.

Please click on the link on the left hand side of the page, and take a look around.

And as always, I’d encourage you to visit our long list of advertisers, and check out their websites, such as United States Senator John Thune, Americans for Prosperity SD Chapter, Congresswoman Kristi Noem, the fine barristers at Redstone Law Firm, as well as my own Dakota Campaign Store, one of the State’s largest suppliers of campaign materials.

And if you might be interested, we do have other advertising spots available. Drop a note to the webmaster for more information!

(And Bonus, we have a new advertiser coming in June already!)

  1. Representative Solum is making his opponents residency an issue with the life long resident line. Weird race. I’d be surprised if solum isn’t in Pierre next session.

  2. His opponent is working hard, but he doesn’t live in Watertown. His car license plates say he’s from the Sioux Falls area.

  3. Don’t take my word for it – give him a call. Nice enough guy, but no one knows him. I’ve been in the community going on 40 years. I’ve never heard of him – never seen him at any Republican events, community events, chamber, sports events, service club meetings, school activities or anything pertaining to Watertown. I imagine he’s got a good reason why he’s running in Watertown. I just don’t know it.

    1. Is this some sort smear campaign by Roger’s supporters, or just people who have absolutely no idea of what they are talking about? Anon 9:43, Neal does not own a car, so who told you this? He owns a Jeep with a “5” license (Codington Co), a pickup with the following license, 5ER-693 and a Dodge Ram pickup. You are right though, Tapio is working very hard, going door to door.

Anon 1:01, yes Neal is a nice guy. He has lived on S Lake Dr for at least the last five years. I have seen him at some Republican events in Watertown including this years LDD, weren’t you there?. Neal’s sales company covers a ten state area reaching from ND all the way to Texas, so he has been on the road a great deal of the time building his business up. He is not married and has no children, so of course you won’t see him at school activities or sports events. But, you don’t see me at either of these either as my children are grown.

Tapio was born in, raised in and graduated from Watertown. I have lived in Codington since 1968 and have known his mother and dad (who is 89). He has lived elsewhere, but Watertown has always been his home.

Neal has always had an interest in politics going way back when he worked in DC for Sen Pressler, and since Ried Holien decided not to run, he took out petitions before Solum announced. He does have two more good reasons for running, he (along with a lot of us) doesn’t like the state government raising taxes on us, nor allowing boys in the shower rooms with the girls, unlike his opponent.
