With 3 weeks to go, Dems up to 11 legislative candidates.

With 3 weeks to go until the filing deadline, Ann Tornberg’s Democrats are up from 7 to having 11 candidate petitions filed for the 105 legislative seats she bragged she was going to have filled for the 2016 election cycle.

After fielding the worst slate of statewide candidates (Paula Hawks and Jay Williams) in a generation, Tornberg is not instilling a lot of confidence in her ability to produce what she promises.

  1. With the downward direction the state Democratic party is going reflecting their priorities I’m sure they could recruit some candidates from some head shops, skate board parks with the weather getting nicer and there is always the wanted ads.

    Burn one for Bernie!

  2. Until the Dems get their party back on track to being an at least moderately liberal, vs socialist liberal, at the top, they are going to be in trouble in SD.

  3. For full perspective, how many of the 105 have Republicans submitted ? Apples to apples. Really curious.

  4. With all anger filled anti-Catholic and anti-religion tirades over at one of the stoner blogs they don’t want Catholics or people of faith in the SD Democratic party either. They are going to have a hard time getting candidates.

    1. Hi Larry. I thought you were banned. Revolutionary as in being hate filled anti-religion, anti-Catholic and pro-mind altering drug platform? Let us know how that works out for you.

  5. What are the odds in how long Ann stays in the chair job after the Dem National Convention? I’ll start with she will quit 30 days after the convention or before the November elections.
